I have no idea i’ve only been listening to the remix so far. The original is of course nice too and obviously they must have remastered it but i don’t have an original to compare it with.
Quality leftfield Latin hip pop. Always an interesting label to keep an eye on…
It’s my favourite cut off the EP, great 20s refresh of the source material…
If you need an escape route from life’s pressures, Good Shepherd & @RustedRail have left the hatch open. The route is dark & there will be some stumbles along the way, but let his soft voice & dreamy psyche-folk threads guide you to the end of the tunnel.
Nice to hear @matthewherbert revisiting recognisable musical constructs & deftly navigating the age of virus by working remotely with 8 new vocalists & longtime session crew before weaving the results through his classic, round edged, experimental house.
love this
very much looking forward to getting hands on this
the duval timothy/martyn collab is

If you need to get out of the house this weekend then pop on your favourite Egyptian headdress, take a left at Saturn & floor it to the heart of the Sun (Ra) as Bitchin Bajas make all my cosmic dreams come true by covering the more accessible side of jazz’s cosmonaut in chief for Drag City Records.
I’ve never been a fan of marching bands mainly because I always felt the tuba made the sound too clunky and slow swinging, well it’s word eating tuba reevaluation time with @TheonCross’ debut LP for New Soil. More than his peers, he swaggers effortlessly between jazz, the UK Caribbean music continuum & the grittier urban sounds of young England.
Picked this up yesterday. Really nice

From the depths of the digital underground - where all the excitement is these days, Monde UFO has just broken cover with one of my favourite LPs of the year. Weaving effortless between jazz, bossa, psychedelic pop, freak folk and exotica, you need this.
Phew I almost missed this! Padang Food Tigers drop a most welcome & excellent 2nd 2021 LP of folk abstractions that weave through surreal ambient mists shrouding fertile electroacoustic lands moistened by westerly drones & warmed by all manner of strings.
The new Levitation Orchestra LP on @GearboxRecords deserves a recommend just for the LP cover that, more than any other I’ve seen, conveys humanity’s stark choice of whether to integrate with or continue to destroy our life support ecosystem. It just so happens that the music is a top drawer spiritual urban jazz fusion roller coaster ride with no lyrical punches pulled, as befits these tumultuous times.
This is brilliant - love it
I actually had a chance to release the LP as I spotted his first single release on Bandcamp. I turned it down in the end because there are a couple of massive samples on three of the tracks, although everything else is live. With the advents of AI in tracking down samples I could see it coming back to bite me in the arse sometime! Listening back to it I almost wish I’d taken the chance, it’s so original and well done.
Soul music has its roots in human nature’s darkside and Dawuna is in no mood to pretend everything is now OK, not bothering to sugar coat his husky social commentary or polish the suitably low lit, lo-fi avant-blues production on my leftfield soul LP of the year so far.
Have we mentioned this album yet? Still that signature Lone sound but for the most part more relaxed, restrained and expansive. Absolutely gorgeous productions levels. Highly recommended.
Good shout and an interesting stylistic evolution for Lone, it’s a great listen.
