Where's Music At?

The world of Discord is an interesting one, great to see artists taking control of their content out of the clutches of Google, Facebook, Twitter etc. It’s the perfect geek out/super fan forum - I just wish I had more time to check them all out!

Sounds interesting - bookmarked for later. Nice one :slightly_smiling_face:

No one knows how they funded it, but in an audacious social healing & ecosystem awareness campaign Tyresta & Hang Ruan are effortlessly gliding around the space debris in the Aural Canyon orbiting ashram & are bouncing subliminal ambient & New Age wellness frequencies off the Starlink internet “constellation”. Tune in & drop out.

There’s lot of electronically drenched, dreamy singer songwriting around but little as imaginative or entrancing as the new Haco LP for Room40, as she soaks her voice & crack collaborators in ambient aesthetics & oblivious to music norms, frolics in the unpredictable sonic surf.

Perfectly named ,having started life in Lisbon before tying things up in New York, Blurry the Explorer adopts a similarly circuitous stylistic route, as the crew freak dance their way througn neo-tropicalia, purple pop & acid folk rock with some distorted scuzz & post punk fuzz alongside the psychedelic buzz.

Despite years of study researchers still don’t know what your computer dreams about when it goes to sleep, but in a major breakthrough thanks to a tip from Pete Gooding’s IG account about Niko Tzoukmanis & Libreville Records they now know what the dreams sound like.

Continuing to captain her own spaceship Pursuit Grooves steers some classic Detroit pads through warm, wayward sounds & then around some spacious beats which give room for thoughts to flourish whilst suggesting your body moves its arse.

This is soooo good. Top reissue.

80s cinematic synths meet the Middle Eastern underground as YNV & @luridmusic drop the perfect electro-Arabic soundtrack for Lebanese love triangles, Istanbul shebeens & Eritrean espionage, with @anatolian_weapons rounding it off with an opiated acidic Marrakesh floor filler.

Dance music for the head and hips from @saupoler on his new deep house mission for @atomnationrec. Need some hypnotic late night driving music, mood setters for slowly filling clubs or a couple of cultured bangers for your Friday night playlists? Sau’s got you covered.

I’ve only recently discovered @aleksi.k.perala - seemingly the hardest working man in (my sort of) dance music. His music wallows in a warming, softer edged, holistic techno sound palette but has subtle yet substantial rhythmic & production depths. Here he ditches the dancers & goes all floaty and cosmic for the dreamers & New Age believers.

He’s a pretty interesting guy > Aleksi Perälä: Colundi rain · Feature ⟋ RA

I actually read that article last week in a fit of research, but thanks for pointing it out :slightly_smiling_face: He’s got serious history, although the http://www.colundi.net/ link doesn’t open  - more Rephlex Records style smoke and mirrors??!!

CHAI from japan are my new top tip for 2021. 2 sisters and their 2 pals who make music that is as quirky as it is great. They’re on Sub Pop so hardly a deep find.
