Not many artists have pseudonyms, fewer decide to heal the mental rifts by uniting them, but the marimba magic, ambient dub & emintently listenable experimental electroacoustic fusion of Masayoshi Fujita(s) for Erased Tapes is a psychological success story worth hearing.
Bit of shameless self promotion here as I dropped this EP on the label yesterday:
Many Wild Things by Ishmael Cormack is now available and itās an ambient gem from one of the UKās most exciting new artists. I could go on but ultimately itās beautiful music from a sensitive soul for people who appreciate the quieter things in life.
Dunno where the music is at but from reading on other forum I think weāll be dancing in our gardens for this summer⦠I donāt really mind to be honest⦠Have a couple of dates going to try book some hometown heroes⦠Lol
āOne for the jazz crew: The new LP from ĪĪĪĪ ĪĪĪ for Teranga Beat is a gem. Torn between the gravitational pull of Africa & The Middle East, his drums stabilise the funk & fusion powered sails as they voyage with a cinematic jazz verve around the Eastern Mediterranean melting pot, evoking the many regional hues as they go.
Debunking the lonesome ambient producer norm, four piece Island People could also end up being an even rarer beast, an interesting ambient live show, as with more layers than an Alaskan in winter they explore all of the genreās soporific, rhythmic, electroacoustic, darker & post rock nooks & crannies in this captivating listen for Raster.
Most ambient music is the result of painstaking production, which makes the single take approach by Jogging House as refreshing as the fact it sounds like a walk along a virtual beach on a hazy summer day as sound waves roll in & soothing tones decompress by revelling in the open space with sand between their notes.
Super impressed with this EP from Michael Diamond consisting of 4 tracks that are essentially deep house with colourings of jazz, world and even old school techno flourishes.
have a looksee through the Arca Discord. thereās a music self promo channel. di yoot be wilinā out!
some good, some bad, some plain freaky, but lots of interesting!
