was hoping there might be some forgotten, discarded caribbean studio new wave bits that got overlooked

Tracklist Balearic Social: Moonboots - Electric Elephant 2009
It has taken me a week to take it out from an old Ipod that still works
What a morning it was.
To be enjoyed on a sunny day
Brilliant tracklist, will enjoy this
Sweet lord, brilliant track listing, what time was this?
Good morning from Nara, Japan. Here are some 4/4 favorites.
Here is an old favorite- some dusty all-vinyl & dubplate wonky four to the floor. First heard it in 2011 and I still bump it a couple of times a year. It starts off strong and rallies hard for a good while.
Enjoy.
The mix was a good intro to the WNCL label, and to the likes of Midland, Blawan & Pariah. I dug around for years for those killer Karenn and Midland & Pariah 12"s and finally found them at Sixth Garden in Kyoto. I love the ramshackle scissors-and-tape quality of those tracks- the kick sounds like a loose-skin bass drum, hi hats sound like saucepan lids, plus radiophonic/hauntological synth burbles, odd field recording clangs and bangs, marching along like a Salvation Army band.
Invigorating.
While I’m here, I’d like to add the Maya Jane Coles and Apollonia mixes for the RA podcast. Maya does moody and melancholy very well here and the Apollonia one was a good introduction to the trio. Smooth.
On the subject of Apollonia, I love this one. Whenever I haven’t stood behind the decks in a while and need some inspiration, I watch this.
I’ve got a Misha Hollenbach mix playing which i grabbed off TP back in 2013. Looks like there’s a copyright blocker on there now (for EU only?)
It really is stunningly good. Australian I think? Any other similar tips welcome
Another (more uptempo) fave is the Citizen Kane guest mix for Finger Mag in 2012. Has that site gone down? I can’t find the archive anywhere. Will upload if anyone interested. includes supertramp cannonball, sabu we’re gonna rock, lord of the isles ultraviolet, and the awesome bangkok impact remix of Bottin’s august
Thanks For Uploading, I have been trying to hunt in down for ages.
These two have soundtracked my week, to be played in this order.
was really into this mix for a long time, https://youtu.be/191omLVg-3U
it’s still good and I come back to it quite often.
This popped up today, can’t believe it’s 10 yrs old… Brilliant mix
Groove Podcast 28 - David August (Innervisions 50 Mix) by Groove Magazin on #SoundCloud
Just been listening to this again…has been a classic over the years…
Also…this has always been on heavyish rotation whenever I remember to come back to it!..45 mins of Dez Andres on Alex Nut Rinse show from years ago…so good!
If you fancy a bit of classic mid-90s house, or a proper lesson in how to create drama on a dancefloor, you can’t go wrong with this Satoshi mix.
It was a Jap-only Sony release but I was driving/TM-ing him around this time so was given a copy, and have gone back to it ever since.
Although fairly new to DJing he absolutely smashed every gig - a real talent and such a shame he went all proggy a few years later.
On a personal level I love it for his K-Jee cover and his mix of General Public’s cover of I’ll Take You There, both of which were massive for me.
Patra - Workerman (Satoshi Tomiie Phat And Insane Version)

Trey Lorenz - Photograph Of Mary (Masters At Work Dub)
Culture Beat - Anything (Ralphi Rosario Anything You Want Mix)
DeDe - Swing It (Butt Bandit Club)
Jamiroquai - Space Cowboy (Morales Classic Club)
Denitria Champ - I’ve Had Enough (Frankie Knuckles Favorite Version)
General Public - I’ll Take You There (Satoshi Tomiie Private Version)
B.B. ft Angie Brown - Good Enough (Fire Island Remix)
Shellshock - K-Jee (Satoshi Tomiie Main Mix)
Melanie Williams - Not Enough (Love To Infinity’s Classic Paradise Mix)
Pauline Henry - Love Hangover (Joey Negro’s Extended Mix)
… and here’s a snap of the very fresh faced Satoshi playing my party later that year
Remember playing this in the car en route to Carcassonne (2014), crammed with deadly Mark E heatbombs (and probably the most creative reimagining of Madonna I’ve yet heard). Seem to recall the Jean Carne edit polarising opinion. And as for Omar S ‘frogs’ oof just wish it was longer.
Loving this so far… merci!
