I have a major love/hate relationship with buying records drunk. Sometimes, you end up with some good shit, other times you end up with shit. Iā€™d say the best buys are when I am on vacation and doing some drinking and hit up a local record store. The alcohol letā€™s you take a little bit of a risk with your money.

Buying records stoned, thatā€™s a whole other gameā€¦

Used to go to a store, that had a private basement listening area, you could ā€˜smokeā€™ down there, youā€™d take a pile of records and work your way through them. Was only for ā€˜trustedā€™ customers obviously. By the end of the pile youā€™d have a bunch of the best tunes youā€™d ever heard. Next day Iā€™d often think, why did I buy this, I donā€™t even remember it, whereā€™s the one with the most amazing basslineā€¦

Didnā€™t stop me doing it all over again the next week tho. Clever marketing 101
