I don’t know that much about her but according to the internet a second album was apparently recorded but never released. She also did backing vocals for a bit and toured with ELO in the early noughties. Still going at 72.
My friend went last night he said it was superb. Sent me about four videos. Full band. Wilmot looked like very good fun from what he sent me as did smokebelch. He said he hopes this isn’t just a one off as he would definitley see them again. Maybe they were testing the water for future gigs. He said Holmer was brilliant too.
I would go to see them if they were up this way!
Not sure how I feel about this. Is it what he would have wanted? I don’t know…
But that’s always the thing with posthumous stuff I suppose. Most of the stuff done after AW’s death seems to be well intended
They’re doing primavera next week aren’t they? And was assuming they’d be doing convenanza too, think there’s a bit of a tour
I’m certainly no expert but I always assumed that the ship that Weatherall sailed was equipped with neither a reverse gear or a rear view mirror.
Payfone delivery ooof
Its quoting me £3.79!
Its such a good album. Loving it.
From my trip to Naples, first time there, really loved it. Found these and took a punt.
Easy Going - DJH classic. The other two, no idea.
The Oye Como Va had such potential but is awful.
The other one, Voices - I was just drawn in by the cover and list of synths on the back cover. The instrumental might be a grower, not sure yet, only got home today and had a quick skip through it.
It was a real “it’s a holiday, why not?” purchase. There were loads I didn’t know and I realised there’s so much more out there to listen to ![]()
We’ve all been there lol
Bought here in Toronto from Sonic Boom and Invisible City. The No I-D was one of Laura’s picks and she never gets it wrong. Cheap as chips as well. The Parbleu may become a future classic, the I-Level has in the river but I’ve never heard the rest. The Chaos In The CBD is, to my ears, a house classic. Will sound great on long summer nights.
The Mystic was/is a punt. I liked the cover. Apiento speaks for itself. Jambonne has a fantastic intro on one of the sides and gets better with every listen. If the second volume of the Italian Library Songbook is 10% as good as volume 1 I’m going to be very pleased.
a couple of very cool chillout records, but very different.

i feel like kind of a fool for missing out on ohma - two women, one of which was raised in my hometown of portland. amazing chill jazz with a sort of modern foat-y production style, amazing guitar, flute and sax work, along with some really cool choral styles. heard this on KMHD and rushed to buy a copy. i have their new one on the way from juno, can’t wait.
https://www.discogs.com/release/34173154-Woob-262980-Hours-Later
a sort of follow up to one of my all time favorite albums - woob 1194. i love all kinds of ambient, but scary ambient (or cinematic ambient if you prefer) is one of those things i find fascinating. back in the 80’s, as soon as i started learning about experimental electronic records, i sought the sort of science fiction noise industrial ambient sounds - hafler trio, nocturnal emissions, zoviet france, etc. claustrophobic and textured - putting tapes and eventually samplers through their paces. woob did this as well as anyone. so this appeared as a fund-me pressing on bandcamp, and yep, i bought two copies as it was fairly cheap to do so (and the vinyl press of 1194 skyrocketed in value). anyway, this is great but if you really want to hear a great record, check out 1194. it’s bonkers.
Local oxfam & Rough Trade
