She is amazing. Her voice is beautiful, would love to see her live.
Incredible album, only put off buying it by some people on discogs complaining it’s a terrible pressing. Is yours decent?
Nothing wrong with mine this version is spread over two twelves i cleaned them on my machine first. Maybe the odd pop but i was certainly impressed when i started playing it as there are alot of quiet parts.
I saw her at a little church in Kemptown, and cried.
That sounds incredible
The minute she opened her mouth tears were in my eyes.
She was accompanied by a harpist, an upright bass and a violin put through all kinds of effects pedals.
The acoustics were amazing.
In-between songs she’s really sassy and funny, which was unexpected.
I have just realised she is playing Belfast, in St Annes Cathederal, this May. Will try and get to this.
avianca dubs vol.1
is it me or does it sound like they cut the bass at 500hz on the laquer cut? a likkle tinny
where was it pressed? only serial# on the runnout. no etching
***still love it tho after watching the vid 3 times a year since release.
Love this. Might sound ridiculous but I thought after their initial bursting onto the scene that Skyrager/Psychemagik would be much bigger than they are.
Record of the year so far for me. Love Affair is top drawer
Went to drop off a box of records (spring cleaning in full effect) at my local for credit and ended up spending half of it on these 4. Funny how that works
Even better is DJ Franky Bones just randomly popped in - told us the story about him getting beating up by cops at a rave in NJ last week and then threw that Serie Noire comp at me, which in my mind made it a must have.
NYC is the best sometimes
Amazing track list on that Serie Noire comp
As mentioned by @Balearic_Clapton … just took the plunge on this one (RSD online sales). Three RSD releases for me this year
Have you cracked open the art of noise lp yet @jolyon ? What the pressing like?
Yes mate, I gave it a couple of cleans first and it sounds really nice. Small bit of occasional surface noise but nothing major. Definitely worth getting if you’re into AON.
I got the Pharoah Sanders Izipho Zam reissue yesterday. If you can get a copy of this I highly recommend getting one. Pressing is nigh on crystal clear lovely gatefold on black vinyl. One of the best RSD titles I’ve ever bought. Only thing I have got this year but really tempted to get the Art of Noise LP.
it’s this in case you can’t read it https://www.discogs.com/release/33698556-TEAL-Original-Watercolour
don’t love the sleeve art but i do love the music.
nice ! agree about the artwork and the music
