Bitter Ends Adjustment >Love , it is superb.

Technically hasn’t arrived yet…but pulled the online trigger a couple of days ago and over excited.

Found it from a random shuffle on a “Loft” playlist of 37 hours of music by Honey-K on Spotify.

Barbara Mason - Let Me Give You Love.
I feel like I’ve flipped past Barbara Mason a million times in various racks and never give her a thought. But this track came on and hit all the right moods, and was a delight. I love (still) being surprised by a song. Will be turning my front room into the Loft (again) when this arrives :joy:

Heard it on a DJ Lloyd mix, could t find it for live nor money. Walked past a vintage store last night in Tarrytown, NY and decided to have a Quick Look. In and amongst the Barbara Streisand back catalog was this for $5. Result.

From the Ian Levine youtube channel (posted the track 18 years ago - wow!)

In recent years, people have raved over Jennifer Holliday, Jennifer Hudson, Martha Wash, Fantasia Barrino, and more recently Lakisha and Malinda on American Idol. Well they all pale into insignificance next to the sheer awe of the mighty Vermettya Royster. Vermettya has always been and remains the lead vocalist of Sisters Love. While still recording with the group, when we did the whole Motorcity project, this remake of one of the Sisters Love classics was her first ever solo recording. Sisters Love started out with A&M Records in the mid-sixties with a string of soul hits, hitting big with “Forget It I’ve Got It”. They then joined Motown’s new West Coast label in the late sixties, Mowest, turning out classic after classic such as “Mr. Fixit Man”, “I’m Learning To Trust My Man”, and their original recording of this single, “Give Me Your Love”. The group were disbanded for many years, but thanks to the hard work and efforts of Vermettya Royster and Rudy Calvo, they reformed and came back together again and recorded for Motorcity Records. They completed many other tracks, including “No More Broken Hearts”, “Saturday Night, Sunday Morning”, “Motorcity Magic”, “Something About You” and “Nowhere To Run”. Vermettya was so excited with her new and outrageous arrangement of “Give Me Your Love” that she went out and performed it a few times during the short time she lived in England in 1991. She redefines the word “Diva” with a Capital “D”. Larger than life and utterly utterly outrageous.

Picked this up on Sunday at the Espace Musique section at Marché Dauphine which is part of the massive Clignancourt Market in Paris. There must be about 15 different record shops and a really good vintage workwear/military store on the first floor. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Somebody should reissue this. Looks rare as hen’s teeth and is an absolute belter.

Picked this up for cheap recently, some late 70s Jorge Ben. Class as ever.

Lovely - a long time on my wantslist. Did you find at a reasonable price? If so would you mind sharing?

I used to own this when it came out in 2005 but i sold it in 2010. Looking back at my discogs records i sold it for £70. I rmember at the time thinking what am i doing and wanted to get the record back but as its unofficial discogs decided to block it from sale. So it’s taken me 15 years to find another copy which is NM. I’ve had it in my saved searches on eBay since then but it never comes up. The cost including shipping and tax from the States was just over £90. Don’t tell anyone.

I see there’s a different 12 with the same versions which Discogs are allowing the sale of (no capitol logos) but again people asking crazy money.
