I went to Stockport once for a wedding.
It was held in what felt like a Travel lodge for the late night disenfranchised.
Black hearted rellies, mooched about to the E-soul sounds of broken pasts and hopeful future, tears caught in eyes and genuinely, genuine lumps in throats, hairs all standing up and that, holiest of holy, holy, holy grails, moving, gyrating, a huge sweating mass of love, hate, indifference, enlightenment, esoteric beats and peace’s cavalcading through the sulphur lit streets, looking back, back, so far back to Sheffield in the mid 80’s (quite warm, move it on) Manchester, Stockport, Berlin, Sheffield the wholly trinity, one love, bless you all.

Was walking past this yesterday and couldn’t resist. Only stayed for a while, I just can’t do single genre evenings anymore. Feels like I’m eating the same thing for hours, but a decent event and venue.

Likewise lovely to meet in person (and Donna). Even if it means enduring my wife taking the piss about my “internet friends”!!

What Ive been to
Soul Buggin (Nottingham) with Grace Sands (DIY) was really good Saturday despite the main room being like a finnish sauna with a failed thermometer
SB guys were great (slightly bearable heat) & did the 1st hour of GS & went for last 30 min which was off the scale

Bit less deep & more discoey house than the DIY days but bare in mind I havent heard Digs & Whoosh for 25y+
Finished on a very deep house instrumental house track I need to hunt down
