What a great party. Arrived with @Airplays. Met @elzorro briefly. Nattered for ages with @TimIndulge. Danced loads in room 2 (loved the top selections from @jolyon, sorry I didn’t come and find you to tell you in person). Got squashed in room 1 but that just added to the flavour.
Nice to bump into you ![]()
It was a great Lowlife. Mostly euphoric with an undercurrent of melancholia.
Great to catch M&J getting the band back together in the back room. And have a natter with @jolyon as well… and maybe @elzorro (although could be wrong about that).
Too many tunes in that back room for the old brain to recall correctly but there was the Mindless Boogie Stars on 45 / Miura mash up which brought back memories of disco dance floors past. There was also a mahusive pop tune that sounded familiar and amazing but I’m going to have to wait for the recording to join the ID dots on that one. Hoping Bill did record that set and the others.
Confidence Man’s Boyfriend maybe?
That was my guess!
It wasn’t that, it had a real 80s US pop sound to it. It’s going to be something really obvious and I will kick myself!
History by Mai Tai?
No but that did sound frikkin great too!
And who could forget this:
Sheila E - Love Bizarre. Or did I hear that later?
Bingo!
Likewise! Fun night. Some great tunes and generally a brilliant vibe. X
Yeah love this
Me too, always makes me smile.
Thanks, neither sound familiar, but that is according to my unreliable memory.
Cheers
Sounds like a special one! rather gutted to have missed that…
Party Tonight is great. One of the few 12s I picked up last year. Must have been at the bar for that one.
That Zohra is new to me, thanks.

Adrian Sherwood was so so good tonight
Don’t quite have the words
Anyone else there?
(Thanks @J_C for the tickets)
Yes I was. Missed SCQ. Thought African Head Charge weren’t great. Sherwood was brilliant though. Sound was excellent, visuals consistently interesting and the musicians supporting the electronic sounds were also brilliant. Alex White on sax/flute particularly stood out.
Speakers Corner were worth the price of the ticket alone I thought
