What you going to?

There’s a new music bar opening this Friday and it looks promising. Sadly I’m out of town. I’m pretty sure @Lasaroff will be there?

Record stores: OK Sound for electronic music, Eronen for reggae, latin etc. more organic stuff.

Food: Salmon soup from Marja Nätti at Hakaniemi Market hall for lunch. 305 or Wellamo for 3-4 course dinner.

Thanks, soup sounds good! Will be on the ferry back to Estonia in the evening tho.

Waterloo for me
I regularly still listen to those old Pre, Peak and Post Delerium mixes from here. They must be a good 10yrs old now themselves!

Maybe this is the wrong thread as I’ve been to it already but here’s Phil Mison going through his records at the Bear in Walthamstow earlier this evening. He played like he does, a bit 80s slow electro, a bit 90s ambient house, a bit world music with vocals, all great.

About ten mins walk from me but couldn’t find a mate to come with me .

How was it? They’ve had some really good music there

Anyone go? Missed the memo.

It’s 5 minutes from my house and I went on my own after getting the kids to bed, but it’s so small that I was totally fine, chatting to neighbours, local barbers, the bar owner and generally all music people. It’s like being at a house party. I asked my wife if she minded me popping out after the kids’ bed time and she said she prefers it as it’s easier for her to fall asleep without my snoring.

Bit of a strange vibe at faith last night. Almost felt a bit seedy. Nancy Noise was great. Missed Noel Watson though. Did anyone manage to catch him?

Didn’t love the venue, loads of steps on the dancefloor and thought the sound quality was pretty poor. Had a good laugh though and saw a lot of folk.

I did catch some of Noel who was playing soul funk stuff. He played The Jones Girls You’re Gonna Make me Love Somebody Else which sounded great.

I enjoyed Logan Fisher most. First time I’ve heard him and was impressed. Thought the vibe and sound were better in that smaller back room.

Anyone coming to this today? I love these Sundays at Giant Steps.

Agree. That little room was loads better

That’s great, I’m keen to give it some support as it’s getting increasingly chainy in E17. it looks like he’s making a real effort and the lineups are interesting

I will play there on the 16th of November I think. Feel free to come and say hello, I do it with a few friends, so always someone to hang out with while someone is changing records.
