Celebrate the 10th anniversary of BİRDMAN or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) with Grammy-winning composer Antonio Sánchez.

The original score for Birdman consists entirely of solo jazz percussion written and performed by Sánchez. Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu has stated that the music helped structure the film’s scenes and that “the drums, for me, were a great way to find the rhythm of the film…”

Sánchez’s Birdman performances, in which he performs live alongside a screening of the film, have been regarded by The Guardian as "[injecting] a vitality that maps out the emotions of the film’s characters with precision…” Despite this precision, each performance remains completely unique as Sánchez’s performance is largely improvisational.

Charlie Dark last night at Nossa super good!

Sean Johnston played both recent Auntie Flo releases last night at ALFOS, sounded amazing on that Function One. Also a track Set This place On Fire or something, was ace. Any clues as to what it is?

My partner and I went to this on Sunday in Melbourne. You’re in for a treat!

excellent!!

I also got a couple of tix to see DJ Shadow next year in Feb. Haven’t loved a lot of his output since The Private Press but I assume he’ll still be killer live.
