I get that as I get older and probably have 2 or 3 big nights out a year… Should be a great night…:green_heart:

I could only catch the early knockings of Harvey last night but he looked on great form. Illness swept through our group with a lot of folks baling out. I was on antibiotics myself and sober and had been up to wolves to watch Liverpool so was knackered. But I was determined to get a flavour of it.

His first tune was Cabaret in true theatrical fashion. I was expecting a 4/4 beat as it ended but he brought in a lolloping heavy rock track with the unmistakeable voice of Freddie Mercury. A Queen track which Shazam told me was Dragon Attack.

Then into the Doors Break on Through edit. The sound system sounded great for these early tracks with Ray Manzarek ringing out of the right speakers and the rhythm track out the left.

Then into a mad cosmic Latiny version of Thus Sprake Zarathustra. No idea what this was.

Then right up to date with first house track Totem Projects Live Forever. He went from that into a few tracks of groovy percussive chug. And then a bit of disco and Italo, Hipnosis Droid got an outing and sounded brilliant. Great to hear Get Ready for the Future

By now the sound was beginning to creak I thought. Driving it too hard? Loudness over clarity for sober ears!

Great crowd, loads of old familiar faces but with a good balance of youngsters. It was absolutely rammed though. Too packed really. So with my day catching up with me I exited gracefully about 1.30pm. I would have loved to stay til the end when it thinned out. You could tell it was all set for a brilliant night. Would love to hear where he ended up taking it!

Everything sounded immense on that system. Jaye Ward on before Harvey was good as well. Very friendly atmosphere and a broad age spectrum which was nice to see. Thoroughly enjoyed it before bailing at about 4am.

I had a vague offer of GL but was planning a birthday party in Sheffield with Winston Hazel playing
After delays getting home from abroad for work on Friday I went to bed at 1030

This might have been the Thus Sprake Zarathustra version. It wasn’t Deodato

Still buzzing from the vibe yesterday was such a great night. First time I’ve actually managed to see Harvey play.
