Just had a look, sold for $14! Doesn’t appear to have ever had a US release though which probably explains it. Think I paid 10p for a copy of it at a car boot sale once..

I was in Dorset that summer and every day of the week it was in the local news. “They’re still at it” type of vibe. I think their moral outrage was really just thinly-veiled envy that the kids were having so much fun.

It’s DJ Duckcomb and he sells nearly everything he posts, so it does pretty good for him. It goes both ways though, we’re overpaying for your £1 specials and you’re paying £20+ for a $3 Angela Bofill record.

Better than last time I got one about 3 years ago, I think it was a high winds warning . I was having a snooze, phone was on silent, when it went off I thought I was having a stroke.
We had a tornado this week and my personal phone, work phone, work email, personal email, and my laptop sent blaring notifications about it asking me to click “I’m safe” or “I’m not safe.” If I’m not safe do you think I’m answering any of these alerts…
I thought it was a new alert from my bank reminding me I was overdrawn

I have seen a good few of his films and most don’t do it for me. I do love Moonrise Kingdom followed by Isle of Dogs and The Life Aquatic. I don’t really need anymore Wes Anderson in my life.

While we’re on the subject of Wes Anderson, an actor he adores but i think is way overrated and from all accounts, a proper arsehole, is Bill Murray. I just don’t get the universal love for the guy. “oh he’s just like us, he went behind the bar at my friend’s birthday and poured drinks.”

I was thinking this recently after I was saying goodbye to a customer. I wondered when the hot weather might end to which she replied “when THEY want it to”

I don’t have any strong feelings about Murray, as it feels like a lot of his schtik is just self-publicity, but I did enjoy Groundhog Day and Lost in Translation, in so far as both tapped into that idea of feeling lost and displaced which I really like in films. The Wes Anderson one in the submarine I didn’t really get at all (but then again, in a nod to earlier posts, that style goes way over my head)

Completely agree. I worked at a restaurant where the son of Harold Ramis worked in the kitchen; Bill Murray had been excommunicated from their family for his toxic behavior, so he tracks him down to our restaurant and stands in the kitchen to ask for forgiveness during a busy service. He comes back a few times after that for the same reason. He was always polite other than the fact that he went into our kitchen without asking. But then Harold Ramis died of cancer and Bill gave a speech at the Academy Awards and it would make sense to anyone who didn’t know their family tried distancing themselves from him in later years.

I saw him in a cafe on All Saints Rd about 30 years ago having Sunday brunch with Paula Yates and a load of children . He was dressed like a character from a gothic horror film and acting like a twat. I don’t think I could have named any of his music at the time but I’ve since discovered it’s as terrible as I thought it would be.
