Noticed the posts were a bit off a few years ago and stopped following him. He’s done some great stuff in the past but not sure what to make of his recent outgoings

I started following him on Facebook years ago. Back then, he was still DJing regularly. Even then, I got the impression that he was pretty unstable, so I eventually unfollowed him. Then Instagram’s algorithm showed him to me again recently, and yeah… it doesn’t seem like his condition has really improved.
i thought this was a joke about compact discs but apparently tinyvinyl is a real thing? funko pop style records for the easily duped?
Is this just another sign that restaurants are pushed to the edge at this point in time?

Yeah. I bet at one point in time this would have been a crime for a ‘proper restaurant’ to even consider, an admission that they can’t run their own operation effectively. But these days with a focus on minimising waste and how valuable produce is, I can see it. Personally I don’t think I’d mind ordering ahead, but for those people who are all about about ordering what they ‘feel’ at the time, I commiserate.
My boss likes to go to restaurants that will call you the day before you go to see what truffles your preference is etc. and as he opens a $1000 bottle of wine he’ll ask me if we really need 3 people working in a department when we could have 2.

Not defending him or the song. No interest whatsoever. Also not interested in killing top trumps. All innocent people being slaughtered is bad. End of.

Never heard of these but honestly hoping the fad collapses so I can own them on the cheap simply for display. $15 is wild though.

I guess the criteria here is knowing you might get crucified. I don’t get Stevie Wonder. He’s adored by many artists I respect. I own several of Stevie’s albums, and even a few singles like Master Blaster for the dub version, and am so turned off from the songwriting style and more so the sound of his voice. I’ve tried (forcibly) to enjoy his music, but I find it so corny.

I get where you’re coming from, especially the more sentimental side of his catalogue. It can be a bit too saccharine and earnest at times.
Having said that, albums like Innervisions and the sheer level of songwriting he produced, for himself and others, more than outweigh that. I don’t love every Stevie song, but I completely understand why so many musicians regard him as one of the all-time greats.

Not even “Another Star” ? I’ve seen Joe Claussell tease that in and out of sets and it always sounds amazing. So ridiculously uplifting. I love “Master Blaster” too.
“Happy Birthday” is another obv fave when you’re with mates and the clock strikes 12. Not sure how anyone can resist?
Special shout out to the guy dressed in the dog onesie who used to mime playing a trumpet to “part time lover” at the bottom of Piccadilly Circus escalator. The sort of thing that almost justified commuting.
*btw if anyone knows anyone who has that revenge edit of stevie wonder nightflight…?

TBH that’s how I felt growing up - only the really big early Motown hits were on the radio where we lived and I tired of them and felt they were corny and sentimental. In high school a few friends of mine were jazzers and they would take me record shopping and that’s how I fell in love with Stevie. All the stuff from the classic period…and even songs you might know by other people like Aretha Franklin’s “Until You Come Back to Me”, Jeff Beck “Cause We’ve Ended as Lovers”. His influence/genius is deep and enduring.

I know! I honestly feel ashamed. Theo plays “As” often in his sets. So many greats adore him. I totally understand his legacy and contributions to other artists and absolutely respect him but I can’t stand his music. I’m sorry to all whom this doesn’t land. I’ll keep trying.

I get it, but think any feelings about him being corny/cheesy have to consider the era and take that context into account.
Still love Do I Do in the right time and place though.
