What don't you get

This just arrived from a discogs seller.
I think the ‘open packaging’ approach for a vinyl record is a brave one, particularly around Christmas time.
This somewhat cavalier approach is however inline with his grading method. The sleeve is described as Mint, the Media is also apparently Mint, despite having obviously been bashed about the ring a bit.

It wasn’t an expensive order, just over a tenner, but this seller has 100% positive feedback over 50 orders.

What’s a boy to do? :joy:

I had something similar a little while ago, the record was cheap but it was from the US, so pricey delivery costs. Kept chasing for some proof it had been but kept being fobbed off with “do you think I’d risk my reputation for an $8 record”… He refunded in the end, but obviously hadn’t sent the record. Had good feedback too.

Like you say, I think he was just hoping I wouldn’t bother chasing him for the refund, or he just couldn’t be arsed with the hassle of posting it as it was cheap.

Jeez - It’s the kind of mint that’s been crushed in a mortar and pestle then tossed into a Mojito!

Was it a seller called RecordsLTD?

Sure i’ve raised this already, but i don’t get “pumping” music in restaurants.
Went somewhere on Saturday with the wife’s extended family, and we wanted to have some good food and conversation. Confronted with the sight of a lap top DJ on the way in, who was banging out seamlessly mixed, generic Hed Kandi esq shite at loud volume. Couldn’t hear each other, or indeed the waiter, for the 2 hours we were there.

No, it was Psych_Quebec, after looking it was actually from Canada, and only $2.99. Shipping was actually only $13 as well, which seems cheap. Maybe that’s why they didn’t want to send it, as they’d undercharged?

Yeah, I’ve never been into the whole idea. Many years ago a roster of DJ’s would get booked to play a fairly upmarket but “funky” restaurant. I always felt very awkward just standing there playing the mellow mixes of everything. While other DJ’s would smash ears with dance floor tunes.

Got asked to do a gig about a 2-hour drive from me. When I asked how much it paid, I was told “this is a great opportunity for you”. It’s a bar that has a sit down dinner service. So, no, not a great opportunity.

It’s embarrassing that places are still trotting out that line.

I got one of these also this week also, and the guy was pretty rude about it. He said that a friend gave him my number. It was a stitch up by a mate who gave him my number because he had such an unpleasant manner about him and we have often complained about this kind of “opportunity” gig. I did have a chuckle about it afterwards, and my friend got a lovely text message lol.

Strap me in, explain it to me slowly. I just don’t get the appeal. :grimacing::face_holding_back_tears:

I like that they exist in a world of bland mass appeal fodder and their give a shit attitude-even if I don’t click with most of their music.
That said ‘Jobseeker’ as social commentary was genius

Yeah. On paper they should be like a modern take on The Fall, but the tone of his voice is just like nails on a blackboard for me.

TRIGGER WARNING

I realise I am no longer the target audience, but surely nobody can enjoy either listening to this drivel or watching that weapon.
