What don't you get

Was it a seller called RecordsLTD?

Sure i’ve raised this already, but i don’t get “pumping” music in restaurants.
Went somewhere on Saturday with the wife’s extended family, and we wanted to have some good food and conversation. Confronted with the sight of a lap top DJ on the way in, who was banging out seamlessly mixed, generic Hed Kandi esq shite at loud volume. Couldn’t hear each other, or indeed the waiter, for the 2 hours we were there.

No, it was Psych_Quebec, after looking it was actually from Canada, and only $2.99. Shipping was actually only $13 as well, which seems cheap. Maybe that’s why they didn’t want to send it, as they’d undercharged?

Yeah, I’ve never been into the whole idea. Many years ago a roster of DJ’s would get booked to play a fairly upmarket but “funky” restaurant. I always felt very awkward just standing there playing the mellow mixes of everything. While other DJ’s would smash ears with dance floor tunes.

Got asked to do a gig about a 2-hour drive from me. When I asked how much it paid, I was told “this is a great opportunity for you”. It’s a bar that has a sit down dinner service. So, no, not a great opportunity.

It’s embarrassing that places are still trotting out that line.

I got one of these also this week also, and the guy was pretty rude about it. He said that a friend gave him my number. It was a stitch up by a mate who gave him my number because he had such an unpleasant manner about him and we have often complained about this kind of “opportunity” gig. I did have a chuckle about it afterwards, and my friend got a lovely text message lol.

Strap me in, explain it to me slowly. I just don’t get the appeal. :grimacing::face_holding_back_tears:

the videos are pretty funny (taking a stepladder to Speaker’s Corner :joy:) I’ll give 'em that but musically = migraine.

I like that they exist in a world of bland mass appeal fodder and their give a shit attitude-even if I don’t click with most of their music.
That said ‘Jobseeker’ as social commentary was genius

Yeah. On paper they should be like a modern take on The Fall, but the tone of his voice is just like nails on a blackboard for me.

TRIGGER WARNING

I realise I am no longer the target audience, but surely nobody can enjoy either listening to this drivel or watching that weapon.
