Just to follow up on this, went to Wembley sunday… Totally stunned by the whole night. Got in front standing queue for 2pm, ended up stood 15 rows back - right in front of Noel. I’ve never known an atmosphere and sound quality quite like it. At one point the entire front pit quickly split in a line down the middle, to allow a team of medics to rush in and retrieve a collapsed man and get him out the barrier to massive applause and cheering. During Live Forever, we noticed a guy stood on his own sobbing into his chest, at the memory of someone he’d lost - we all piled in for a group hug, which obviously helped so much that he sobbed even more! What a refreshing lack of dickheads all round! The cash grab debates will continue, but they were far from phoning it in - one of the best live music experiences I’ve ever had.

I’m looking forward to Friday! (Richard Ashcroft, not so much :face_holding_back_tears:)

I’ve read various posts on reddit & yt, particularly from people who travelled from different countries to go to the gigs, who’ve said they’ve never experienced an atmosphere like it, overwhemingly communal & positive.

I had such a good time at the Manchester one I wrote a Substack on it.

I have heard really good things about the Manchester gig. Was a bit aggro at the start but apparently turned into one of the loveliest performances ever experienced.

Went to Wembley last Wednesday with the missus, my 16 yr old daughter & a mate, wasn’t supposed to go, someone dropped out & I had seriously low expectations. Liked DM when it came out, went Knebworth (remember nish) but honestly thought it would be wall to wall knobheads after a tear up. Everyone, whatever age, demographic, etc seemed to be just buzzing to be there, they played like they meant it & as everyone knows the songs, it was a massive singalong party vibe.

Anyone else irked when they see a record on ‘cogs that has been “Ultrasonically cleaned using a Yamasaki Forceprobe 509”…or whatever machine they use?

Invariably the records arrive with water marks and streaks… or have a I just been unlucky?

I tend to avoid them now.

DJs in bars with no dancefloor and just tables playing peak time records. I mean tell me your collection is limited without telling me your collection is limited. Also, just play slow jams.

This post is exclusively for the DJs in the Boston area as an aside.

see also: people who bang it out when you’re having a meal or quiet drink ugh. So arrogant and clueless.

Thats exactly my gripe. Does my head in.

Yeah, they aren’t leaving them out to dry properly (or whatever the process is for the machine they’re using) and you get a wet inner sleeve.

“Ultrasonically cleaned using a Yamasaki Forceprobe 509” … sounds painful!

I may have stolen that from Kaptain Kremmen (Kenny Everett).

Think I want to reset my algorithm. All I seem to be fed these days is videos of absolute weapons beat matching ‘deep house’.

Is that on insta? I stopped going on reels a while back it’s a godsend for your sanity

Always change the filter to following so it’s in chronological order also

I bookmarked the follow only timeline on desktop, which means I don’t see any horrible DJs, junk or gimmicks. Highly recommended. Not sure the app allows it though?
