What don't you get

Mike Pence proclaiming on national television that he has been “sleeping with” a non-union teacher for 38 years. His wife.

Deluded.

She’s a dangerous ideologue that should’ve been nowhere near number 10.

Stumbled across this nonsense t’ other day. Nothing better to do at work so listened to a couple.

Completely bewildering, existing in a parallel universe and definitely not in a good way… so glad I’m old and way too past it to ‘get it’.

And another… show off twats with Siberian Huskies and other long haired cold weather breeds… in fucking Bangkok.

Conservatives having their party conference in a city where they are despised.

Doesn’t Chipping Norton have a village hall they could use instead?

Edit: the conservatives full stop.

It’s so they can pretend to care about the North. A total pisstake. Every single day these vicious fucks troll the entire country and the sad thing is a third of voters still don’t see anything wrong with voting for them.

I’m truly afraid that if they win next time, that’s it they’ll be in power for decades to come :expressionless:

I just don’t understand how any Northerner could ever vote for these cnuts, they couldn’t give a f*ck about the North

Truss giving a speech to some fringe group positioning herself as a future leader again with the same lunatic policies. Almost bankrupting the country once not enough for her.

The deeper UK question for me is whether political parties really can fix the problems now. I think Starmer knows this ain’t no 1997 and is realistic, but people will still wonder out of hope/despair… can he really reverse the evisceration of high streets by Amazon? Or grasp the complexities of the massive demographic changes across the board? Or has the balls to stand up to the triple lock lobbies, the nimby lobbies etc? Or has the imagination to save old seaside towns? Or is tapped in psychologically to a country that feels so angry, bitter, divided, and sadly not viewed with affection elsewhere?

Its difficult to say.

I’m gonna say that no, he can’t. I’m not sure any PM or any group can without having a couple of decades to really get into it. So I suppose the thing is to do what you can and not be a greedy self serving corrupt cunt while you’re at it.

As for the Conservatives, I think their destruction is absolutely necessary, not just destruction, but actual liquidation. Only then perhaps can a new intelligent centre-right emerge from the debris. It won’t happen, because too many interests won’t allow it. We need politcs that reflects the natural gravity. There are lot of young and BAME entrepreneurs who lean right, green businesses and others too, repelled by the identitarian or repressed public school shit. The Tory future has to chart a different course

Seems like we’re undergoing that much political, social, economic, and technological change that we’ve reached a point where we’re all scratching our heads trying to figure out if there’s some person / entity decent / clever enough to lead us all through it. All feels a bit dystopian at times.

I literally feel like a rabbit in the headlights most days. I’m probably too old now, but I certainly wouldn’t want to bring a child into this shit show.

Still… while there’s moonlight, music, love, and romance…

“Politicians “ on a 5 year timeline are the people least likely to be able to fix the big issues. The whole thing is utter ********.

The pace and scale of the technological, ecological and demographic changes we are experiencing are way beyond the old party political system and the muppets operating within it.

There has to be a way where there’s a free market alongside an active state (health, education, infrastructure, transport, energy) and a more humane, inclusive, caring society. I genuinely believe most people would vote for that. I have zero faith that we are going to get there with any of the current lot leading the way.

However one positive outcome of the demographic changes we are experiencing in the U.K. is that most of the Tory/brexit voters will be dead within 20 years and there’s no new wave of support coming through.

My kids have told me that amongst their teenage peers the worst insult you can call someone nowadays is ‘tory’.

Shut up you tory, you’re a tory. that kind of thing.
