Bushwacka’s Big day out…

Never really bought into all that ex football hooligan loved up, and now I’m a DJ world( a la Farley, a la pretty much tons of names), I know that they all had a time and place in things, but as we would all hopefully remember, those “people” is why we were so drawn to an alternative life, a life that was safe, welcoming, had great role models, was an amazing outward looking vein of creativity, that gave us a church that was the opposite to NF and the British obsession with random violence at the time. I never really bought it outside of a drug stimulated narrow window. Soz about the rant, but it’s something that I’m glad came up, and never sat right with me as a London kid in the era.

From Jenni Rampling policing the door at Shoom to the select, invited audience of 50 at the Stonehenge 30 years of acid house… for a scene that claims inclusivity there’s always been a lot of exclusivity going on - especially in London.

UK charity shops treating a pile of Black and White Minstrel & Rolf Harris LPs as valid stock to be priced up and sold. Never mind that nobody is ever going to buy those marching band records, at least keep this offensive crap out of people’s faces.

went into the British Heart Foundation shop at lunchtime and some enterprising member of staff has placed 3 Russell Brand DVDs on display.

Danny Rampling was in Pikes on Tuesday with some odd outfit on.

it would be amazing if there was a national campaign to remove all those old shit records that no one wants and melt them down.
Maybe an idea for a BBC2 series where [insert former bastard cabinet member trying to rebrand themselves into light entertainment favourite] drives around the country collecting them and talking to the old dears in the charity shops.

Nice!

I often take the rascist/peado records up to the counter and gently suggest they may not want them on display. Did that today, they got it immediately and took them straight out. I’ve also had people tell me it “wasn’t policy” to remove them, and to put them back! Considering the whole pub gollywog thing in the media recently, I’m genuinely surpirsed more care isn’t being taken. I see the B&W Ministrel records all the time.

Thinking about it, it was just the once, in Bromley. Felt more like a jobsworth complete lack of understanding, than active support for the material. But I still swerve that place now.

This is a very good point which i’ve never considered before. I just flick through and ignore them. Might change that.
A freind and local record dealer told me he once found a record by that welsh band with the singer who got put away for horrendous paedophilia (can’t remember the name thankfully) in a charity shop and pointed out that perhaps they should destroy the record, which they did,

Maybe Bushwacka’s doing a bit of volunteering in his spare time?

Like the Jacoma summer collection.

Sounds like an Alan Partridge pitch:

“Noncey vinyl with Michael Portillo”
