Bang on.
my second-grade kid has a classmate with the fully elaborate mullet, multiple layers, the boz-shaved lines, small rat tail variations off to the sides.
his name is hamilton which is cool enough but everyone used to call him ‘hambone’ and now it’s just ‘hammy’. i know it’s hard to predict how a life is gonna unfold at age 8 but i suspect that later in life he’s going to have to request that the ladies form an orderly queue for his kind attention.
To be fair to him he is. One of the most explored deep sea adventurers ever, 33 trips to the titanic site alone plus god where else at what depths.
I work in an institution with around 1600 x 16-19 years olds, I can definitely confirm that mullets are back in. There’s something quite heroic about how bad some of them are.
Doing things “Ironically” Like the afore mentioned mullet. The whole 80’s crap pop hits being played in bars and pubs back in the hipster days. It got so common that the tunes eventually got considered good music and actual decent 80’s music got completely sidestepped. All this kids wearing the worst of the 90’s thing is another example, a group of pioneering types will do it ironically, but the rest do iy because it’s a trend and think it’s actually stylish.
say what you want about mullets, but as an early 90s skater I witnessed the intercultural bonding magic of the mullet. it is one of the few haircuts that can be rocked by every hair type, each cultural mullet variation having its own individual style set.
business in front.
party out back.
Its the 20 year cycle innit. 2003 was peak Hoxton/Nathan Barley/electroclash thing, so the Mullet is back for another go around
Was just thinking the same
This style seems popular in certain student areas of Manchester, usually teamed with baggy, shapeless pants/jeans and crap white trainers.
Its everywhere, very AFL/NRL, ill advised taches too.
