That is awful but there was always a moody element in some clubs - Hac early 90s was prime example
There is a Parrott interview where he talks of someone pulling a gun

Yeah I remember being at a Release party in Shoreditch in 1990 and it was moody as fuck. People were getting turned over, there was some girl got pissed on (seriously) on the stairs by a group of wrong uns, and it was just a real nefarious vibe.
Edit Block on the Old Kent Road was the same, security was just some mates of the promoters and it was all a bit chaotic of course
Amazing to think how young and naive we were just based on youthful energy and pills
Maybe another thread
Moddy Clubs that we didnt love but went to
It was awful. I saw a couple of people getting bottled in there and general vibe wasn’t great.
I only went from '93 - '97 though.
I’ve paid a few quid for a good 7” in the past (insert joke here), but this seems a bit out of touch.
Thats crazy money, I got a white label 12 for 4 quid a few years back.
Part of the reason I rarely buy records anymore.
It is getting to a point where it is harder to justify buying a new 12" when you can buy an all time classic from your wantslist.
Another thing i don’t entirely get is (and i am possibly guilty of this to a certain degree) the rambling, usually older forum poster who has been so poisoned by facebook, and the ability to just endlessly ramble on to nobody in particular, that they bring that energy to this new wave of internet forums.
This place isn’t so badly affected, but i have witnessed it on a few other forums for sure.
Is it just the beginnings of senility creeping in? Is it brain rot from too many ectos?
£15 on average for a new 12. Fucking hell. Remember thinking £7.99 was pricey for an import in the mid 00’s.
Not sure why, and I haven’t contributed yet, but this is probably my favourite thread on here
It’s cathartic, especially as we age
Salt Bae and other madness like this Prime juice. Basically people paying stupid amounts of money for substandard nonsense. Just because.
I love youthful crazes though. When you just gotta have it and reason goes out of the window. I was like that with Space Dust in the late 70s. It was rubbish, but I spent ages trying to source it.
Looks like that Penny Goodwin album is getting a decent reissue. Pre-order on Juno is £47. It’s getting ridiculous. I thought the point of reissues as to make them affordable at least.
Absolutely. My general point is that nothing under the sun changes.
I’m seeing £65 on Juno. Makes £47 sound like a bargain ffs
No way! That’s leapt up £20 since earlier.
Shysters!
Try living in Australia and having to pay the import/postage on top of any purchase. An example being that recent Smiling C comp and the Pacific Breeze City Pop comps - cost $90 - $110 here. (50-62 pounds). Most new 12"s have passed the 17 pound mark as a standard as well.
Yeh seems to be 30 dollars as standard which is Why I went for new Aussie stuff which was abit cheaper and will get euro/uk stuff when I get back home
The CDJ and high end rotary mixer set up- does it really make any difference to the sound quality of digital files vs vinyl?? Also looks abit daft
