What don't you get

Got an email from HMRC saying there was a ‘growing trend’ that I could join for submitting and paying my Tax return early. Ha, is there very really, muppets.

Haha, I actually didn’t mind that reminder. Better than doing it in the last week of January and realising I’m short of money to pay the bill, which has happened to me a couple of times unfortunately.

this is a work gripe but - people who avoid doing tasks by asking unending questions.

(me) “hey, would you do that? so-and-so requested it.”
(them) “do you mean this? or that?”
(me) “that. like i said”
(them) “but what about this?”
(me) “idgaf. but make sure you do that”
(them) “so, do that for like, everything?”
(me) “yeah. do that. btw, who hired you?”
(them) “eric hired me. in fact, let me ask eric if it’s ok if i do that”
(me) “yeah. do that. CC me. do that, while you’re talking to eric, or whomever”. just fucking get that done, ok?"
(them) “so i should do that… now?”

etc. i keep notes on these people come annual review time.

I dont mind people who join it to actually get a job. The twats who favourite things and repost their own achievement are the worst.

And the ones that literally add 50% to your work load because of their laziness/ineptness, yet you are somehow paid the same and are viewed to have equal abilities. Had many of these over many industries and many years.

Have heard it called peformative professionalism which is very accurate. Nothing but soul destroying glorification of capitalist competition…

Don’t want to knock anyone trying to earn a crust in these hard times but…

Wanted to post about scenes I witnessed at work last night (there’s a food bank next door) but I’m so incandescent with left wing rage I better not for a few days, nobody likes a ranter according to my Mrs.

Rant away mate. It’s absolutely shocking what’s going on.

So… sat waiting for a customer Friday evening, a crowd of people was gathering and queuing to get into the Church hall next door, didn’t think much of it to start with, just a regular bunch of people, seemingly from all walks of life, thought they were at some kind of Church Social. After a while they started to go in and one by one reappeared with full shopping bags, probably about 60 or so I saw.

One elderly couple reappeared, the old fella visibly upset and sobbing with his Wife consoling him. Absolutely heart breaking to witness. One thing to know food banks exist, but to watch that was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen.

What have we become?

And the amount of people who rely on them is only going to increase, next winter is going to be brutal. Civil unrest cannot be far away.

And the Tories actually celebrating them being opened - cutting the ribbon and everything. Cunts.

It’s horrific. I sometimes help out with Positive Action in Housing up here and it’s heartbreaking.

The whole system is rotten.

I’ve even seen Guardian correspondents predicting Summer 2022 cost of living un-rest. No wonder the Government were keen to push through the Police and Sentencing Bill :expressionless:

The government has been looking to hit civil servants redundancy packages. And in the run up to huge public sector job cuts.
