One troubling bit of media from the Trump campaign was the anti-trans messaging all over NFL games the last few weeks (“Harris works for they/them, Trump works for YOU”). It’s sickening and sadly might work in attracting more men to polls.

Agree with @MGG , Harris was untested and ultimately a very weak candidate. Running on abortion was wise, but clearly women are not a monolith and male voters had other ideas. No tangible economic platform for everyday people to stand on. An international disaster.

I went to bed around 1am with a bad vibe. It’s going to be terrible, all the score-settling, protectionism, attacks on rights/democracy/climate, and Ukraine/Eastern Europe thrown to the dogs. It feels far worse than 2016 and now looks like he has a popular mandate too.

the most depressing thing for me is that he could die tomorrow but would make no difference when the wider disease is still there. you can’t win elections championing policies. you have to confront the base prejudices and dark gut instincts of millions of people, who will forgive ANYTHING provided he’s on your team. all summed up here:
