Track ID’s - Name That Tune

HELP! Hoping for 2 ids from this mix (which is great btw).

1.16.18s-ish onwards with the piano intro and funky drummer beat

1.23.20s-ish onwards.

Cheers! @Donald.Dust was spot on, it’s a UK artist and released 1983.

It’s also cheap as chips:

Immediately copped, thanks @domer and @Donald.Dust

will check it out. I think with a lot of these Italian cosmic tapes some of the music is not always sayin it out of context. It’s the looping, drum machines, and generally degraded tape hiss. The intentional or unintentional magic touch. Baldelli even had me bopping my head to a sons of arqa song, proper hippie trails music. But you know, that is also the mark of a great dj, to recontextualise stuff you might not like.

OK, hot tip for anyone who was gonna buy the Vision 12" !

Since @TheNightlark grabbed the regular version (and we tend to trade any mutually useful vinyl rips) I picked up the pressing which has the Heaven Mix on it too - it’s like a more housy dub:

I swear I searched for this mix on Youtube and didn’t get a result, the above upload only went up a month ago, so maybe this song is having one of those weird moments where it suddenly becomes known in a few scenes at once. Odd since the mix I heard it in is like 6 years old…

Does anyone know the track Garth is playing in the first clip?

Anyone able to help with this 70s/80s funk/disco one?

Anyone know the absolute warehouse belter at 36:50 to 37:15? Maybe not in the usual cannon of music for this forum, but I thought someone might recognise it, it’s torturing a lot of people who want to know.

Everybody In The Place: An Incomplete History Of Britain 1984-1992 by Jeremy Deller - YouTube

In case it helps, found this in the comments on a different YouTube page from a few years ago:

For those asking about the tune at 37:00 onwards, director Jeremy Deller and producer Ed Gillett were kind enough to reply on twitter although sadly the answer is inconclusive:

JD: “…i think the original music on the prog could not be identified so we could not use it , for copyright reasons so we had to replicate it , i will check though”

EG: Can’t add any more than Jeremy I’m afraid… I shifted over to a different film in the series later on in production, so wasn’t around for the latter bits of licensing. I did notice a credit for “additional music” though - entirely possible that we could have commissioned some music to fill gaps where tracks on the original footage weren’t identifiable or licensable.

So looks like it’s probably a commissioned remake of a tune on some old footage. Let’s hope there’s someone out there that knows!

That’s so funny, slowed down it sounds like a Brazilian band like Black Rio or something of the sort. Very cool. I have that record, will start playing it slow now hahaha
