The Ibiza Thread

Thanks @Hierbas might check that on Sunday

I’m sitting in the shade at Sa Caletta as I write. Had a lovely few days so far. Not too busy here.

Went to El Silencio earlier in the week. Really nice. Thanks for the tip!

Nice, we’re heading out in 2 weeks time and fancy checking this out. Was it busy, ie. did you need to book?

Yes it was busy and I’d definitely book. There was a big queue of people without reservations trying to get a table in the restaurant. I’m off there again today for some sunset action!

Our mates are at Juan y Andrea on Formentera as we speak, just sent me a pic of the yummy food, expensive but nice they say. Sent them some of the big island recommendations… I’ll see what they say.

Ibiza’s lovely right now. V friendly and relaxed. Will pen a review of sorts at some point. Musicwise, if all goes well, got Alfredo later at W, El Silencio tomorrow, Paradise Lost on Sat and El Chiringuito on Sunday. Obv the no-dancing rule is a bitch so just making the most of what’s on offer

If you can just pen that before the 19th that would be swell

Big fan of Pacific State & Rich in Paradise & also used to play the Horse Meat Disco revived Sheryl Lee Ralph - In the Evening

He definitely championed Pacific State on Radio1, I remember hearing it (shows age)…and was a face on the island as legend goes

Think he was the one who broke Pacific State into the mainstream by playing it on R1.
He still has it as a music bed on his shows today.
Seems a good guy

Gary Davis was one of the first DJ’s we stumbled into out there in 1989 as a group of totally naive 16 year-olds. I think he had a residency at the Star Club that summer. Was playing a mixture of house and indie. Très balearic :grinning:

You arrive a couple of days after us. First holiday for my 21 month old so very excited.

A couple of our favourite restaurants are La Paloma and Aubergine. We have loads more but I am crap with names so will ask my wife.

Oh nice I bet you’re looking forward to it! We love La Paloma, we’re booked for dinner Thursday 23rd. Never been to Aubergine but my mrs has been mentioning it for a few trips now

If you’re about Sept 21 Pikes will be good. They’re doing a 12 hr homage to the roots Redirecting...

Wow ok! Christian Len contacted me on Instagram to ask permission to use a photo I took in Space in 1994. Never found out if he used it or not as I haven’t spoken to
Him again. He did say they were actively looking for a UK publisher to print an English language version so if anyone knows anyone? Book looks very comprehensive.

I offered to translate it myself but came to nothing. A very good book. Certainly shatters a few myths (some acid house ‘legends’ don’t come out of it that well…)
