Our mates are at Juan y Andrea on Formentera as we speak, just sent me a pic of the yummy food, expensive but nice they say. Sent them some of the big island recommendations… I’ll see what they say.
Eye wateringly expensive apparently, €12 for a small water. They weren’t happy…
We walked by that spot - looked outrageous price-wise and long in the tooth. One of the loveliest meals we had on Formentera was at S’Abeurada de Can Simonet. Lovely authentic pizza at Panperfoccacia as well.
Beach-wise, Migjorn seemed to be the tourist one - we took a look and moved on. Ses Platjetes & Platja es Caló were much more chill. Unfortunately the secret of Calo Des Mort is out and it was packed - wife got stung by one of those nasty pinky jellyfish as well. We learned that one great thing about Formentera is that usually if the jellyfish are in numbers on one side of the island, they won’t be on the other.
Trying out some restaurants we haven’t been to as yet when there in a couple of weeks. The afore mentioned El Silenco, Casa Maca, Casa Kica and Roto. Can’t wait! May also get a night out, sitting down of course as Alma Eat Is Life look like they have some decent line ups on Saturdays. Local DJ’s playing deeper minimal stuff ala the Underground.
Just booked car for £708 for the two weeks with no queueing, full insurance with no excess, extra driver and toddler seat which is £80 alone so not too bad really. Cat C car as well so a Fiat 500 etc would be £50 less
We’ve booked a few places now too, its both me and my mrs’ birthday the Friday we’re there so Casa Jondal for daytime lounging and lunch, then Casa Maca in the evening for a birthday treat to ourselves. La Paloma, for another evening, Cala Gracioneta for a lunch stop while out in the car…looking forward to it now.
We stumbled across it whilst staying over that way. We have been back every year since including taking my in laws the day after our wedding and will be taking the youngest there this time too. As you can tell, we like it.
We get our car that day so heading up to Benirras late afternoon to soak up that sunset then back to Aubergine for dinner. Not a bad day all in all. Thanks for the rocket up our proverbial, we’ve been meaning to go for ages
