I was an extra in A Touch Of Frost once. 98 I think. They were filming in the pub across the road from us. David Jason was in the scene, it was supposed to be Christmas, we had to wear jumpers and it was the middle of summer and roasting. I was in the background playing pool

I was in a Lenny Henry sketch. The Prince sketch. They advertised filming at Eastleigh Town Hall in the local paper for all the cool kids to get a ticket to be in the audience. The blue Pringle sleeve at 3.21 is me. Lenny was cool as fuck.

Stellar arm performance, I briefly lived in Eastleigh/Chandlers Ford back in the bronze age. Had a lot of fun in a vandalising 10 year old kind of way.

I went to the same primary school as director Steve McQueen (little ealing). But he’s 10 years older so we never met

Our school really had it going: Quincy Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Lee. Hendrix was expelled; my locker was next to his (years later obvs), which had been painted brilliant purple. Q actually came back and helped with funds for a new performing arts center.

Acland Burghley in Tufnell Park? I taught there as well!

Roger Lloyd Pack came to one of the parents evenings there. He had a son at the school at the time I think.

Jim Bowen used to be a PE teacher at my school before finding fame on telly. Apparently he had a plimsoll which he named ‘Bertha’, and he would duly threaten naughty kids a whack on the arse with it. Before my time, thankfully

Jim Bowen skelping your arse with his shoe, called Bertha, is some kind of dark, 1980’s nightmare, haha.
