Essential PNW comp! Tony Gable (from Cold, Bold, & Together) was a friend. Fun fact: he was also a graphic designer and did the King County MLK logo. His mate Kenny G would bring him on tour. I always talked shit about Kenny G but not after I met Tony…
Barnstorming cheap disco
Everyone knows the a-side but the b-side is a feelgood record that goes down well at weddings. (not a bad thing)
Mega compilation of Mr. Bibilioni’s greatest “hits”.

Everyone knows the a-side but the b-side is where it is at to my older more sophisticated ears. Here is a Small Claims court. We put on Matt Edwards in the main bar area of Dry Bar and in the back behind the curtain was Camera Obscura, so we managed to catch all of the punters who decided to stay after their gig who joined the ones that we charged a fiver to get in but in truth we let everyone in for nothing. We lost a decent amount of money that night.
We were only meant to start playing when they were done but I’m excitable and may have gotten going a hair early, so as I was playing this record I got a tap on shoulder and it was the lead singer from CO who in her broad Glaswegian accent told me that if I wasn’t playing good music she’d have, in her words, “bottled me”. I’ve never been more terrified/excited in my life. We spent the rest of the night with her, members of her band and management, and the Rekids crew playing a blinder, getting well offside. Fun times.

not sure if you’ve seen this but it’s a fun read. and i’m pretty sure they cribbed the headline from my username (nah, we both stole it from the premier)

Some old Ruff Sqwad produced garagey grime from 2006, i’m glad i was young enough to be experiencing this at the time.

Amazing Italo/Jazz-Funk LP. I love pretty much everything the guy has put out and was even lucky enough to DJ with him once a few years ago.
Really cool! Never heard of him before…

I love this record, but I’ll never ever ever understand why they went with that cover. Probably a bit naff even at that time.
i like the striking contrast between the girl, the plane, and the background, but yes - it didn’t need to be that girl or that girl-without-a-top to have the same effect.
The record is all kinds of right, and the sleeve is all kinds of wrong
No idea what boundaries they thought they were pushing there but -shudder-
he probably had nowt to do with it, but i’ll still blame clapton. because i don’t like eric clapton.
It was definitely him
Steve Winwood was off sick that day
Ginger Baker was the dodgiest of the bunch to be fair.
