Funny little track that can get annoying quick, too. Still I pull it out occasionally just for fun.

Fun orchestral moogy grooves from that great period in Brazilian music when, basically, everything was good.

Sadly mine has a seriously large blemish (hot rock?) right at the end of my favourite tune on the LP (Kriola). You have to lift the needle off sharpish as it could suffer terminal damage falling into that crater!

Not tempted to tarmac over the crater?

Never considered that.
What would you recommend as good filler material?

Ice T speaks very highly of Chicken Grease

I forgot about this one. Bought it over a decade ago when I first started collecting records and would get anything cheap in the Soul or Jazz sections. It’s not the best Soul/Jazz/Fusion record I know, but I developed a bit of a sweet spot for it. Some lovely slow tunes (check the title tune) and a little bit of that undeniable Soul/Latin energy that made War’s music so special (check “Junkie to my music”).

What a lovely random pick. There are two different versions of this album which came out at the same time. The pre-mix version and this, the standard version. The pre mix version doesn’t have film samples from The Sicilian and The Servant during ‘Violet’, this version does. Easily one of the most Balearic tracks ever made and one of my all time favourite songs.

I’d say violet is in my top ten favourite records… It’s just perfect. The way Trevor Horn introduces live drums, the volume of the samples, the vocals - just lovely…

The bass reminds me of Eric Serra’s playing on the Big Blue album, very nice, no idea why I’ve not heard that before.

Weird Kon edit of Michael Jackson doing I Shot The Sheriff with some Chic guitars. Whenever I would play it people would put on a puzzled face before digging it and dancing. Haven’t taken it out in a looooong time though… The Human Nature mix is OK too. Kon’s other MJ mixes are all better.
