Mix link dump come one come all

Love on the run… Brilliant name

I don’t know him personally but i loved his old radio show with all the great guest mixes and i think he’s done some great mixes himself too.

His K-I-DOUBLE-L-E-R-S Thats The Reason For My Success and Express Your Love mixes are next level.

Ooo, looking forward to listening to the ones from The Saint.

This is an incredible treasure trove, and this should maybe have it’s own thread where we could get a little historical context of the djs and the clubs themselves.

Or is that a little too geeky even for in here?

I don’t mind noising up some of my 70s NYC dj contacts to annoy them with questions during the festive period…

Nothing is too geeky : )

No I could not agree more and when I stumbled across this and one of my daily mix cloud worm holes it stopped me in my tracks.

I have a pretty crazy tape collection but this provokes jealousy on a major level.

This is the type of thing that makes me realise although I think that I have a pretty good knowledge of dance music culture I have only really scratched the surface, and that what I don’t know is so much more vast than what I do. I love it, life would be so boring if we knew everything. Thank you so much for discovering and sharing @Doctorbrowncelray

It’s really exciting to have found a whole community of good natured dorks on here to share this stuff with. Someone tried to pick a fight with me in another thread the other day and I was just like man this community is a gift and I won’t contribute to letting it go sour.

Which is what I love about music: never ending discovery. Hearing a dj mix of great music I’ve never heard before still excites me like it did when I was a teenager.

The music/mixes I’ve discovered through this forum has been a real goldmine, in what has been a pretty dark time.

Amen!

I’ll probably pick a fight with you at some point in the future* as well, but it doesn’t mean i don’t already think of you (and many others on here) as a very knowledgeable person, with really good music taste.

(*I probably won’t in all honesty, but you never know…)

Yes please. I’ve only had a chance to flick through a couple and they sound incredible.

None of the names mean anything to me so anyone who can do a pine walk collection 101, maybe picking out a mix for the day and giving Evan a tiny bit of background would be fine by me.

Man it’s such a specific scene I don’t know if anyone on here really has the knowledge to discuss this exhaustively. It’s very much circuit party white gay nyc’ers of a certain age. Maybe someone on here is cool with Brewster or Tim Lawrence or Bruce Tantum can re-materialize on here. Dunno. Just know it’s worth throwing out the bat signal to find someone who can put this all in context.

In my opinion there are a few Hall of Fame level Mixcloud users, the guy Yebo, Manny Cuevas, Don Lassiter, etc. I’d say for sure this instantly enters that top tier of stuff we might never otherwise have the chance to hear.
