Following on from @Doctorbrowncelrays post about the Fire Island tapes. Have you seen this? Not new or recently unearthed but hours and hours of cool disco mixes from the San Francisco scene. A friend recommended this and it’s in the same vein.

The Menergy book looks incredible. I had a couple really great nights/mornings at the end up, including one that ended with my very stoned friend deciding to lead the cops on a car chase through the streets of SF!
When speaking of compendiums of mixes it’s always worth reminding people that Gridface grabbed all the Ron Hardy mixes from deep house page and saved them from the toilet bowl of history. https://www.mixcloud.com/gridface/

A master class.
Thanks for the share.
Whilst on the subject of DHP, there’s a stash of over 500 DHP mixes downloadable here:
I recently found a hundred or so DHP mixes I downloaded between 2003 and 2006, I don’t have anywhere to host them but if there’s any interest I can upload them to wetransfer.com
re: the Menergy book, I really enjoyed this article
Me too. I like that it doesn’t shy away from calling out the Castro scene for being conformist and exclusionary. I swear I’ve never seen a person of color in a lot of those places and spaces out there in decades of visiting.
Also similar to the Saint/Pines stuff a lot of that Hi NRG and the other records they played are the soulless side of dance music to me. Devoid of funk. Culturally though it’s such a fascinating and important scene.
I’ve been eyeing this thread for a while now. This morning I had to call customer services at the bank for some nonsense and whilst holding I added all the mixes on the thread to a Soundcloud/Mixcloud playlist. I love having random stuff to listen to in the shower as I can’t turn it off and it forces me too keep listening.
Couldn’t find any of the Danny Tenaglia mixes though, all been deleted I think, would love to hear those.
Nice one to everyone sharing the vibes
I have a friend who lived there in the late 80s/early 90s and he said it was amazing, but i never thought to ask him about that aspect of it. Interesting.

This guy definitely has the goods. High quality rips too.
Here’s Budino in fine form with a new mix for us…

This dude has some fire broken beat stuff and a bunch of top quality Fabio and Grooverider shows on KISS.
Would be great to get your NTS shows as downloads through the TP site.
I honestly don’t know how I’d do that as we’d have to do them as mixes and its not really a mix if that makes sense… And tbh NTS have the files so it goes on their channels… I’d like to do a mix one day though haha. It’s on the list. Mison is round tomorrow recording a new mix so he’s up next. Always killer.
This mix is SO GOOD, been jamming it all week!
Slowly going through those Fire Island Pines mixes and really into it. If there was a Terminator style time machine available I’d go and live in the 80s. Obviously the AIDS thing was a right shitter, and smoking cigarettes didn’t work out for everyone, but otherwise I can imagine everything else being pretty exciting. I would definitely visit Ibiza, and Italy, and all the gay clubs in NY and Chicago, air fare affordability permitting, of course.
Still trying to wrap my mind around buying a beautiful house in fire island and getting all these tapes as a bonus. Incredible.
Not one for RA mixes usually but this is an absolute vibe from Bradley Zero. Quite a 90s flavour to it, loads of killer old house bits
Listen to RA.816 Bradley Zero by Resident Advisor on #SoundCloud
He had a great mix for Beats in Space, going to definitely check this one
it’s really good, this - I love how the crowd goes wild during “Movin’ On” too
