Always an entertaining moment when the guy with the glasses makes his way down the front. I heard he’s well known at AVA. I think there was a clip where Job Jobse almost loses it with him after trying to grab his hat.

Cheese and pop edits are pretty popular with kids these days. It’s not my cup of tea, but to someone 18 years old who hasn’t heard reel 2 reel 6 billion times through the 90s and early 2000s, this is a slightly obscure ironic banger that sets them off. Does it impress you or me? Not really. Does it get 20 000 youtube views from young kids and guarantee bookings for a talented and calculating young DJ? You betcha.
Maybe the equivalent of someone dropping king of my castle in 2003 peak set and all the gurners lapping it up.

And then there was your Boiler Room at AVA festival with THAT sunglasses guy. Did you meet him afterwards? You owe him a pint or two I would imagine! The video was everywhere. It helps that you’re playing an absolute weapon when he does his thing, and that your set is killer of course…
It’s funny because that clip appears somewhere online at least once every day since it happened! I had never met him before Boiler Room, and I didn’t even actually meet him at Boiler Room – aside from him practically being my back-up dancer. I was playing in Belfast, a couple of months after the AVA show, and he came up to the front where we met properly. Apparently he’s a local hero in Belfast and goes by the nickname of ‘The Lizard’. I heard he also runs his own clothing range! Definitely a legend.

It moved to Islington but didn’t last long there I don’t think.
We used to drive four and a half hours from Wales then back again when it kicked out in the morning. I wasn’t one of the drivers thank fuck.

The bouncers gave me a bit of roughing up in a back room as they thought I was serving up. Dropped my bag of Gary’s on the steps on the way down to the room so got away with it. Nasty fuckers. Think they were connected to those Essex murders?!
