Home listening set up

Beautiful.

Not sure if this is the correct thread to ask but does anyone by chance have any cdj stands they no longer need?

Trying to rearrange the kitchen set up to fit both decks and cdjs…

Had the home listening setup out in the wild this weekend for a small gig. The speakers had a lot of positive comments on them which had me trying to suppress my pridefulness. They did fill the space with sound though and didn’t sound as terrible as I thought they (or any other speaker) would in a rectangular room with all hard surfaces might.

Not sure what section this goes in- was doing some house website browsing and came across this.
Quite a set up!

Love the drum kit / cycling machine combo - do you set the tempo that way or is it the other way round

The videos he’s been posting on the development of these beasts is a good watch.

I am very pro Devon Turnbull, but the price on these is getting crazy. Unless I’m missing something it’s just a slot ported enclosure with a horn sitting on it. The crossover can’t be too exy as it doesn’t have to do much. You could put these together for under 3k with possibly better components.

Yes indeed

Sounds correct 3k plus margin/labour/set up would make it into business. I don’t think Tannoy will sell you anything big for less than 10k?

I was helping pick up enough bits of holy grail JBL part recently to build a few pairs of lovely huge speakers, more power to anyone who gets them out there.

Your average DJ is still going to make them sound shit from experience!

“Your average DJ is still going to make them sound shit” The old distort everything ethic lol.
There is a new crew in Melbourne who are using vintage JBL gear for their sound system. I have yet to hear it but I’ve heard these horns before and boy are they sweet.

That’s the owners of El Gran Mono, yeah? They found some old JBL cinema gear and looks like a 2x12 or 2x15 hog scoop? I bet it’ll sound great with some dub running through it!

I don’t know if it’s the same guys or not. It might be. This sound is called New Flower SS and they play house/boogie/disco etc. The 4520 folded horns are a little light under 50Hz but clarity is amazing.

Two pairs of those 2390 horns with 2441 drivers were in our haul a couple of weeks ago. That gear is going to sound incredible when playing incredible sounding records.

Blimey, that was a score.

Like records, there are still some seams of gold out there. Not my purchase, I was just assistant on this.

On that note… If anyone on here has known cabinet dimensions to any design they want to DIY I’m happy to draw up and spit out DXF files that they can take to the local CNC machine shop to make their own flat packs to build. Makes it easier than having to cut it all on a panel saw or track saw it
