Home listening set up

I may hit you up on that offer in future. I’m often building cabs but I have always lacked the skills to make plans and yeah it can be a pain cutting everything.

My happy place :slightly_smiling_face: Living in a small wooden cabin, so have to work with what I have. Absolutely loving the Adam Audio set up, especially as I don’t have any neighbours.
Mixer upgrade and new synth by the end of the year.

The blackout, insulated curtains have turned out to be a surprise bit of sound proofing.

The stuff dreams are made of. I got to hear some 4355’s in a recording studio next to where I lived, and they were proper amazing.

I’ve toyed with building replicas, but then you end up with some giant speakers that don’t fit anywhere besides a purpose built room.

I went to the Reverb exhibition in London last week where they have a Devon Turnbull installation, ‘Hi-Fi Listening Room Dream No.1’. The Vinyl Factory Reverb Exhibition — 180 Studios

The exhibition was quiet and so got chatting to the guy playing music and asked him to select whatever he felt in the record box sounded best on the system from any genre. He played this Alice Coltrane beauty

followed by this which was unexpected but sounded incredible.

I hadn’t appreciated the amazing production before, didn’t realise it was Raphael Saadiq.

Yes Solange, the way the vocal is mixed sounded amazing on that system. The you tube link is working for me so must still be a bit temperamental

Just got me a pair of these Elipson Heritage XLS11 and a used Rega Brio R amp which means major upgrade here at MGG HQ.

Sounding great, now I just gotta get rid of some of the extra furniture so I can place them properly and enjoy. I only wanna party at home now!

(The speakers are a huge bargain. Their bigger brothers the 15’s even more so, but I opted for the smaller ones because they are a bit easier to move around…)
