Not had the Digitakt II very long and this is pretty much my first jam with it. I got a really good deal on a UAFX Max compression and pre-amp pedal the other week too, so this is the audio straight from Max into Ableton Live. I think it sounds pretty good (maybe a little over compressed). I ran the LA-2A into the 1176 FET in parallel mode and there’s some of the 610 pre-amp for colour too.

That’s sounding magic!

Cheers! Yeah I think it might be worth working on properly. Can hear a bassline and drops etc in there :fist::kissing_heart:

Your setup sparked this distant memory of Orac from Blake 7!

Me too. I’ve been using the 1010 Music BlackBox for a few years and that is so simple to use.

The Digitakt. I find the whole drive+, samples, selecting them then loading to a project very convuluted and frustrating. Compared with the BlackBox it’s a right PITA. However the different machines and the modulation options to multiple destinations is really good.

I still can’t figure out how to change the length of the sequence for one part (sample)… is that called a track? Dunno. Can only seem to change for all. Need to RTFM probably. I like the fact you can choose the range of the filters and also the FX. Plus the ability to have reverb on all the other FX! (bit mad but OK!)

I’m like 40% sold on it. The project/drive/sample and transfer workflow absolutely sucks balls IMO

I had the Model:Cycles so am somewhat used to the quirky workflow, sample loading did my gourd in to start with but get it now, took me ages to figure out why a drum loop only played one beat once put in the pattern, still some things are deeply mystifying.

But all the quirks I can forgive because I love the creativity it gives, sooo bored with Logic workflow.

Do you mean the length of a ‘Pattern’ in bars? (Func + Page will increase Patterns bars up to 8). If I want four bars I generally finish one bar then increase the length by say 3. The first bar will be copied to the new bars so it’s easy to say put a variation in last bar. Rather than progamming a four bar pattern from scratch.

Or do you mean you have a pattern with a sample that is longer than the pattern? You can do this, I’ll see if I can find the YT vid explaining it.

Digitakt func-page is combo you might be after (cant remember if that’s global or not?). Love mine but the whole drive+ i still haven’t figured out. I just use templates and import samples as needed.

Bought an Octatrack thinking a Digitakt but better… I haven’t gotten on with it at all. Cant use the additional outputs as auxes which I had totally assumed was easily doable. I dont think it sounds great either. Interesting to hear that about the BlackBox, always thought that thing looked amazing (loads of i/o) but hadn’t heard any great endorsements till now. Nice jams btw.

Another jam. This time Perkons has all four voice set to 100%decay decay and tuned to roughly scale. 100 Grit doing some really lovely and gnarly filtering with resonance on a drone using Loquelic Iteratis and ALM/Busy Circuits Cizzle coming through on the lead. Gets a bit raucous!

That’s dope.

As is the head nodding camera work :grinning:
