Once again an Italian manager made an immediate (and ultimately effective) strategic change as soon as Croatia scored. You can’t fault the in-game management. It’s not the best Italian team ever, especially up front, but that coaching nous is a major factor for them. Are you watching, Gareth?

Spalletti is a Roma legend. Love the guy. No, the national side isn’t a particularly good one this time around but then again Donnarumma, Jorginho and Chiesa were all part of the side that beat England in the final to win it 2020. And they still are. Barella is great and Calafiori will likely get a move to a bigger club this summer.

The kits have been really poor this tournament, even stalwarts like Croatia and France have got terrible ones, the latter looks like a baseball shirt (moves to clobber thread)
