Favourite ambient stuff?

Here’s a brand new favourite: folk boundary pushers Andrew Tuttle & Padang Food Tigers swapped ideas on how to subvert their usually Americana aligned instruments (well apart from the scissors!), into forces for ambient good. They didn’t half succeed.

Cheers for the tip, didn’t know about that. Stuck it on this morning for my run.

Wicked Lp, never really gets the props it’s deserves.

This just arrived this morning from Trilogy Tapes…

Amazing, an experiment in true ambience, I feel cleansed after listening to it…

As well as cleaned out after paying for it

Some good recommendations on this thread - cheers
Not sure these have been mentioned yet kind of “1st wave” stuff I feel have stood the test of time:
Michael Stearns - Planetary Unfolding, if you want to fly into space and back

Don Slepian -New Dawn, has been particularly played to death the last year to soundtrack lockdown, pottering, and meditation by the other half. Never gets old. The vinyl’s great, and his digital releases on bandcamp are a bargain

Robert Slap albums are decent too i.e. Emerald Green , and Oriental Garden

Supersempfft - Tropical trip

Keep also an ear for the 22 minutes long Cosmotropic Trip on the same record unrealeased and reedited in 2020.

Mountains!!

Love threads like this. Think you fairly clued up on the music but come to realise you’ve only scratched the surface.

Recently read about these somewhere and can’t get enough of them. Been around since the early 80’s and fairly overlooked from what I can gather.

Another one.
Great as the soundtrack on my commute into work.

I absolitely love Jon Hassell, preferably on a hot summer’s day with the doors and windows open and the sounds of the garden blending in. Life doesn’t get much better than this for me.
