Time for the bump.
Might pop into town as I have offered to buy ice creams for a club night promoter (are promoters even a thing now?). It’s possible that there may be one or two genuine music lovers out and about inbetween the scene p***ks and RSD flippers.
‘Black Sky-Shakespere’s Sister’ a piss in the cornflakes of long time record scavengers or a great 12 finally being out there for all…maybe we can get this played out, which you would think would be the point…?

As a side note, I bought a copy of that Reflections LP earlier this year in an unsold RSD stock sale at a record fair for £10. There was a lot of 2024 stock there too.

The Izipho Zam reissue would be nice if its on black vinyl but apart from that and black sky (which i think is a good thing to repress) and art of noise there isnt really anything else that really grabs me.
This is always much better on RSD at LV.

I can’t face the queue at the only store here (Rough Trade) involved. Gets worse every year.
Do you happen to have any info on this Chris? Doesnt appear to be on Mr Bongo site or the RSD webiste list. Or maybe i’m just not looking correctly.

i haven’t even checked the lists yet, but i did see this on discogs and added it to my want list. i’m a moody 4AD guy at heart, and i contend that pale saints were some of the best 4AD had to offer.

i’m hoping this has the long version of “fine friend” on it - the one that only appears on the “all virgos are mad” compilation. it’s got a bridge and an extra verse in it and it’s just lovely. no idea why that version didn’t appear on the single, at least.

Payfone are doing a free PA at shop TBA
I went Saturday afternoon last year hoping it would have calmed down & there was still a queue round shop just for the RSD stuff
Same, not bothering again. I stood on Hockley for 3 1/2 hours the other year.
Honestly, if it brings you joy, do it. But I’m going to be playing some records down at Jelly in Clapton. Kev, the owner, is one of the nicest guys in the second-hand record game. It’ll be a pleasant day.

I’ve not played RSD since 2015. I preferred it when i could turn up ten minutes before the shop opened and be third in the queue!
My nearest shop doesnt participate any more as they once massively cocked it up- manager had something like a £10k budget, spent about £50k and filled the shop up for months. This is a second hand shop, that does not ordinarily stock new vinyl. Madness! Somehow kept his job 
Yeah, I’m sure I’ve said this before, but there is nothing more depressing than going into a shop on the Monday after and seeing all the crates filled with unwanted RSD chud.
