Doing anything nice for Record Store Day?

Yes! That’s the hustle that’s good to see! With the portable turntable too

I’m lost without the battery deck. All my digs are without the internet as coverage is normally useless, so use my ears.

Helps out to sell the more unknown grooves also. Running some rechargeable D cells as the on switch gets knocked plus a brace of spare styli in the lid. It sounds ‘ok’ with a pair of HD25, well enough to judge what is on the record but no more. £100 ish online used.

Is Bluey a kids show? Seems a self fulfilling prophesy putting it out on RSD given what everyone knows.

Yes, it’s an Australian cartoon available on CBeebies in the UK… It’s great. Loads for the kids and adults watching it with them.

it is a pretty great show, especially when so many shows for kids are so damn dire.

ACAB and that includes paw patrol.

Bump or new thread? I don’t know the correct forum protocol for a yearly event?

Going to the Winchester for a nice cold pint and waiting for this whole thing to blow over…

Probably pick up the DJ Koco Bongo Boxset.

Actually yes. Playing with Brian not Brian down at Idle Moments. Will have a little bag of the Personality edits on me to sell as well.

I’m trying to enthuse my friends in the north to venture out to mingle, I think the worst of the RSD trends doesn’t sit well with them either despite being younger and less jaded.

Myself and associate will be doing our best to find some used bits as the city opens up and goes record mad for a day. There is far more to dig here than can be done in day but we will try our best.
I’ll have a brace of Sade B sides for sale, tucked into the insides of my trenchcoat, but don’t tell anybody.

Every time I express any enthusiasm for RSD, I always get push back from some goober on facebook who can’t help but point out that commercialism and capitalism have ruined what was once a positive thing.

While you’re not wrong, you are a turnip for feeling the need to point it out and ruin something for others.

Anyway, sometimes neat stuff comes out. Do I care about most of it? No. Adele or Taylor Swift maxi-single on clear vinyl with glitter is not something I care to have. BUT supporting physical will never not be a good idea and if you’re lucky, one or two cool things WILL come out. Air, Buena Vista Social Club, Daft Punk, and Freddie Gibbs are neat ones this year (to name a few).

Don’t want to go to a store, just play a record, that’s what I always say. Celebrate the format if absolutely nothing else.

Planning to pop into RT Notts about 3 to see what about

Can’t be arsed with the day itself and think it’s mostly ridiculous, but will probably go to Banquet in Kingston the next day to buy a copy of the Bill Evans LP.

I see Reflections by Amancio D’Silva is getting a reissue and there’s a Two lone swordsmen LP available too.

Would like the reflections lp as the original is silly money
