Art for Art's sake

Thank you for saying that, it means a lot.
You can imagine I felt the same way!

That would be straight up on the wall in our house if one of my kids did anything as good!

If anyone is in the Stroud area I have a piece of collage in this group exhibition, which looks quite interesting: Between Sky and Earth Exhibition — Stroud Valleys Project

Wow, that really is quite compelling. I’m guessing that he is big on drawing? It’s like he has already developed his style.

Every teacher he’s ever had has said ‘this kid’s an artist’
He’s just started 2 days a week at an inclusive art studio, can’t wait to see what he does next

Quite a thread that somehow connects pills, art, bitcoin and Skid Row

My youngest daughter is top of her class in art and woodwork. Hates everything else in school and left woodwork this year because it’s all learning about trees and shit lol she just wants to be doing stuff, some of her paintings I’m afraid to even ask her about… We have a parent teacher meeting on Thursday should be interesting.

I never got over my imposter syndrome in my boys school years when it came to teachers evenings. Weird

Attended a really good exhib here today which was focused on Suburbia & the American Dream (and all the associated bullshit people bought into) Basically the rise and fall of US suburbs. Inevitably political… There was a short film featuring an interview with Todd Solondz who produced the film Happiness. Anyone seen it?

That looks cool. Any Gregory Crewdson photos? I think he captures suburbia hell very nicely…

i saw it way back when. i did not care for it. i wouldn’t say that i’m an overly moral person, but i just don’t like a lot of films/tv that try and get me to emotionally invest in morally ambiguous characters.

I’ve currently got an exhibition of mine and a friend’s collage work at at The Artery in Worcester. We’re having a private view tomorrow evening. It’s the first time I’ve had so much of my work on display at once, which makes me realise how much I have done over the past four years.
