I think he’s the DJ I’ve seen most, whether playing alone or as ALFOS. I last saw him DJ at Dekmantel Festival in Amsterdam in August 2019, where he opened the main outdoor stage from noon. My only real memory is him throwing CDs into the crowd from the stage which was way up high backed by an insane curved lighting display. The set was up on Soundcloud but isn’t working now.

Tearing up newspaper for the fire after a freezing cold stroll and came across this article on what would have been his 58th Birthday.

Sat with him when we had him over to play midweek in our little club, a friend collected him in the airport earlier and they had some food before the gig. We were sitting just behind the dj box and he was really interested in records our warm up guy was playing kept popping up for a look and a little clap. A mate came over completely off his head talking about can’t wait for AW to play yap yap hope he plays this hope he plays that, took him about 30 minutes before he realised he was sitting across from him lol just left him off waffling and a cheeky grin…

Same guy who picked Andy up in Dublin Airport went to pick up Dave Clarke in Dublin Airport on another date and from Dublin to our town down the coast is over 100k away, he was in Dublin waiting got a call from Daves manager asking where are you Dave has landed and is waiting… Dave flew into Cork Airport and the driver went to Dublin… :grimacing: 4hr drive from Dublin to Cork shiting it after hearing Dave can be a grumpy fella at times… When he got to Cork Clarke just said This fckn hotel better be good…

Can anyone spot this tune on this ALFOS mix.

At 1 hour 47 minutes, someone in the comments reckons it might be something slowed down.

One of the best sets I saw him play was a Rockabilly set at a festival on the South Downs, I dont mind a bit of Rockabilly but the way he did it was a different experience, I cant explain it.

I was a bit disappointed when I heard he was doing a Rockabilly set but it was epic.

I’m after a nice portrait of Andrew. Either painted, photo or illustrated it doesnt really matter. I know there’s a few folk doing them but I’m yet to see one I really like. If anyone sees any please tip me off here. Cheers!

All i can here now is State of Grace’s Not Over Yet, so err…thanks for that!:joy:

I think it’s a similar baseline or riff but I might be talking rubbish. Check it out at your peril:joy::+1:

Just watching a doc on the making of ‘Screamadelica’ which features a great quote from AW on Ecstasy, “I went from listening to Throbbing Gristle’s ‘Hamburger Lady’ to dancing to ‘Josephine’ by Chris Rea…that’s how strong that drug is”
