12 Inches of Disco Pleasure

You’re right, Low Life classic that tune, so good

Was really heartbreaking when his partner talks about realizing he was not being faithful when he got HIV.

Such a sad film and a sad story. And amazing to me he keeps Arthur’s legacy going, regardless.

Yeah. What a legacy though. Amazing documentary.

That whole Arthur does disco segment is brilliant. I never realised Lola Blank did the vocals on Go Bang either. He wanted her to be as crazy as possible with the vocal. I’d say she met the brief.

Peaktime banger!

Instrumental is the one for me on this. Some great bassplaying on this. Love this sound!

Later Patrick Adams produced major label boogie gold. Love the quirky synthline which is more in the front on the dub but the vocal is nice too.

Went straight onto Discogs and bought it, what a tune, love the way it’s got so much funk, so many layers, full of surprises, not just verse/chorus/verse/chorus. A real journey of a record. So, thanks!

Big favorite in my bag for last 6 months, gentle 130+ bpm pleasure

Love it, never heard before but love the famous RCA submarine vocal booth.

I love this too, I play it every time I can. Hipped to it by Waxist via Mark Grusane which makes total sense as it’s the most Mark Grusane track ever

Yeah, I think I’ve heard it first time in Grusane’s mixtape.
Talking bout Grusane…Few years ago, Mark Grusane had his slot during some online festival, and he played some personal edits from his high school days from cassettes (I think). I remember edits from Archie Bell & The Drells - Nothing Comes Easy, which is pure fire, Robin Hooker Band - You’re Cheatin Heart. This second one is so cheesy as an original but edit deserves proper release cause it’s a stomper!
He mixed Disco City by Terry Lewis on it…
I don’t use superlatives in music, but that track… That track is my vision of disco club. I was in hotel room on my field work, 3AM CET time had to get up for work at 6:30 and I was jackin alone in the room like I never have done in the club <3

I think he recently released a few of these edits on a 2x12. He’s definitely got them all up on his bandcamp.

This is another cheap Grusane play which is great. He likes the big strings dramatic stuff but somehow in his sets they just fit…

Yeah, The Drells edit is on Tape Edits for Hot Biscuit
