Salutations from the @rvngintl diaspora who have kindly supplied a dressing gown & slipper friendly selection of New Age noodles, weightless folk, wispy pop & a couple of weirdy wobblers to keep you on your toes, as you will have to get dressed sometime.
I’d probably pick this LP just to wig people out with the cover & make my IG feed look cooler, but luckily the new LP from Dr, Joy for @Ideefixerecords is a desert warmed, kosmische Americana, freak folking, space rocking, double dropping trip and a half.
Post punk leaps into the kosmische metaverse to be overwhelmed by the oneness of all things & decides to work through its anger issues at the dreamy synth pop workshop run by Baltimore’s @smokebellow analysts at the @trouble_in_mind institute.
Club constructs & IDM get lost in an ambient fog, slow down to avoid collision and decide taking it easy rather than than jumping around getting all sweaty is the way to go in Harry Rodger’s fine slowtronic sojourn for his newly minted Grey Focus label.
There’s just so much music coming out playlists are probably the best way to keep on top of it all. I’ve just kicked off a Friday Freak Out playlist where I trawl through Friday’s new releases and pick my favourite bangers that I’ve stumbled across on my Slow Music research mission. Anything goes as long as it’s got a bit more oomph and attitude than my usual laid back picks.
The voice on that big DBO fella is insane. There’s a line back to that late 80s dubby post-punk Bristol soundsystem scene thing going on with them. Totally love it.
Concur with what @Balearic_Clapton and @TheNightlark have already said. Also “David Cronenberg’s Wife” has to be artist name of the week! Thank you for all the new music recommendations, @TheSlowMusicMovement
Looking forward to this album dropping next week. Reich-inspired vibes, the two tracks released so far are a great listen and happy to see proceeds from the release going to a worthy cause.
Had this on over the weekend, still considering if for one of my daily recommendations. I think I picked up on it from the Petal Motel blog which is a great source of Americana tips.
Celebrating the rural idyll, Igor Yalivek plants his bucolic synth sounds with natural field recordings, in this most gentle & scenic ambient stroll for Polar Seas Recordings & reminds the world’s increasingly cramped city dwellers another way is possible.
