Bought three in Manchester the other week.

Rappin Duke / Duke Is Back.
Rap novelty made legendary by a line in a Biggie Smalls record.
I first heard the track in 1986 on a school trip to the Pyrenees Mountains, which out hiking for the day my mate passed me his walkman and said “you need to hear this track”. It was Duke Is Back, and Ive loved the track since, even with the awful/novelty rapping.

The Chimes / Heaven (remix)
Love the OG and these remixes are a nice edition, Morales does a decent version and there is a breakbeat heavy mix by The Chimes themselves.

Ruf Dug x Private Joy / Dont Give In
Love this modern take on the classic UK Street Soul Sound.

I’ve bought a lot of John Beltran stuff over the years. I would say this one is pretty good, not the best but definitely not the worst.

Taras Bulba - Venier Le Temps

I know absolutely nothing about this record but something made me reach for it. Trancey, ambient, Afro vibes is about as close as I can come to describing it. Actually imagine you’re dancing in a field, you’re 18 and have candy flippped and everything just slows down…that’s the vibe.

Called into HMV whilst I was out in town to see if they had the Fell From The Sun comp in, they didn’t but they had a sale on.
Picked up 3 CDs (yup i still buy CDs) by Kindness, Prins Thomas & Tom Misch + Yusuf Dayes for 12 quid.

love this, it’s like DJ Koze making a proper pop song

If you end up with two and fancy selling me one it’d be appreciated. Slept on that one. Cheers

I did indeed end up with two, I’m in the states, where are you?
