I have to give big shouts to the new location of Superior Elevation. It’s out of the basement (so I guess it’s at a superior elevation 
) and clean and airy and stocked with good ass dance music plus the new sign is incredible-

Where is it now? I remember going to the old location on my way to the airport and there wasn’t much around it. Not that I minded, as I filled in all the Shadow and Venus Dodson gaps in my collection with ease.
Right near Marcy Houses. Stuy/Williamsburg border I guess you’d call it. Much better location in every respect.
I’ll be there March 10th. Driving down to pick something up so a trip to A1 and Superior Elevation are on the agenda.
I bought a couple of records that weren’t made in the 80s. Nothing too modern sounding though.

The postman dropped this one off today, I first heard this track in a Beats In Space mix by Andi Hanley in 2010, loved it to bits since.

Nice tip from shop counter. never heard of Ebi (Susumu Yokota) but this is a collection of his early eps. Techno / ambient/ acid stuff.
In case you didn’t already know, his Bandcamp page says: “After a period of ill health, Yokota passed away in March 2015 at the age of 54.”
Picked up this Loose Ends LP in a Wellington record shop for a few dollars. Record collectors over here are fixated on macho classic rock, so I can come in and sweep up the soulful bargains.
A couple of Ebi tracks were on the Weatherall classic mellow mix from around 1993 if any further recommendation was required!
Ooh, Nights of Pleasure is on that. I need to hear the full album.

There’s a pretty big back catalogue of Yokota’s stuff, some of its absolutely brilliant.
Just ordered this on CD, as the vinyl repress is just too expensive. Great stuff indeed…
