I’ve thought about this too. I setup my Christmas set inviting anyone who came to bring favorite Christmas records but no one took me up on it. I still think there’s a way to make it happen though.

Ever come across a London night called 7 Up?
Punters brought a cdr with 7 tracks on. All cdrs went into a sack. The host picked one at random. The person whose cd it was came and stood on the stage whilst they were played. Audience could stop a track at any time. The winner on the night was the person who had the best set/lasted longest on stage. It was fun.

I played a night once which I called Mario Golden Jukebox in which I’d invite patrons of the bar to come and have a chat and with the 5 mins knowledge I had of them I would play a song from my case which I thought they would like/identify with. Like a reverse request sort of thing. It was interesting. I tried to make it a web series later but I sort of got sidetracked and never went back to it.

Used to go to a pub that had an open deck session in which you could bring 5 45’s, add your name to the list, and play them out on the sound system.

Absolutely loving inverted audio in Peckham at the minute. Been turned onto so many amazing records I have never heard of before. Recommend a visit if you find yourself on Rye Lane at any point. Came away with these today.

Colour of Spring half speed remaster thing came today but its skips like hell on 4 of the 8 tracks so back it goes, hopefully replaced by a better press.

Gave it a big clean with lens fluid and it did the trick. Bit shit for a new pressing really.
Mine doesn’t skip, but isn’t without it’s issues. Disappointing, considering what it really needs to be, which is pristine perfect.

i went to get this repress of some incredible dj sprinkles remix’s and while picking it up at phonica i had a little browse at reckless and got the SaPa record. really good dub-techno from a few years ago.
prices at reckless are pretty good at the moment. very much priced to sell.
the don jaun came in the post the other day too, i posted the b side in the italo thread a week ago and thought to get a coppy.
