Whats the last record you bought?

Mine arrived yesterday. It’s good but I’m not sure it lives up to the hype and ridiculous pre-order/selling out within hours madness he generates now. Need to give it a few more listens.

He hasn’t released anything particularly stand out for quite a while now. Nothing rubbish just all very meh. I think you are correct there is way too much hype around him mainly by himself. Good marketing I suppose

Tend to agree. Nothing on that album is as good as the first track ´Do Wrong´. (Didn’t listen to Demo’s Cassettes… yet)
´Sinner´ is a great album/ep IMHO

Yeah sinner was good although I didn’t even realise it had been released until it immediately sold out and appeared on discogs for silly money.

It’s no where near his best stuff, but still think it stands out amongst most of the stuff I heard last year. Agree, the hype is a bit silly.

he’s set high bar with his earlier productions, for sure.

i’m enjoying “taken away” as a listening piece, i think it works pretty well as an album, whilst there are no real stand-outs.

Bought this today and pre-ordered their new one. Fabulous stuff.

they did a guest mix on 1btn recently

mixcloud links don’t appear to be working

there should be enough there for a search…

Is it the same guys that do the Balearic Assassins of Love show on 1btn?

BAOL is Steve Ellis (Steve KIW), Ade Peachment (King Sunny Ade P) and other reprobates. They may be related… Steve Ellis is one half of Andres y Xavi, King Sunny did the sleeve notes for their forthcoming album

BAOL played a few tracks from the new LP on Thursday past so I wondered if there was a link. It’s a great show

I’ll give this a listen for sure, nice one

This showed up last night. Been totally od-ing on a lossless file given to me by a friend. Time to step up and put the vinyl in the collection

I had some crazy times around these dudes. Definitely some of the wildest humans ever to make music. I’ll just leave it at their lyrics are not fictional or sensationalized in any way :flushed:

O Yuki Conjugate reissue on Óptimo, that man Charles Webster again. Knew they’d worked together before as Symetrics, but this was a new one on me, nice ambient & house business

Had a listen to this earlier. Top quality as always from CW

Just ordered this which is very nice indeed

Also this reissue by elusive band The Cry which I have been after for yonx after it featured heavily on a certain era defining skate video in 1989 and was virtually unobtainable for years due to it having originally only been released on cassette.
