I’ve noticed recently that Juno have started upping the prices of records if left in the basket overnight. Anyone else noticed this? Was gonna place an order this morning but feeling like I should buy from someone else now

Talking of Juno, this just arrived. Completely forgot that I’d pre-ordered it months ago.

Nicely done. Gives it new life.

I’ve definitely seen this happen a few times.

How strange. I’ve not noticed myself. I’ll keep an eye on it.

I usually add a few things to my cart at the beginning of the week, listen to the sound clips for a few days, then purchase what I like at the end.

You reckon they’re charging you for keeping things in your basket, or just increasing the prices post release?

Havent noticed that but observed the Dennis Bovell album fluctuating at varying prices between £30 - £40 then back down again.

Surge pricing!

So I had the new Cantoma 7 in my basket it was £10 ish and the next day I went on to place my order and it had went up to £14.75. Almost a 50% increase ha. Stuff that

They also increased the price of the new Lexx album but it was the last one in stock and I couldn’t find it anywhere else in the UK so just took the hit with that one but it’s definitely something for you all to keep an eye on

Just checked my order history there and I only paid £31 for that one

That’s shocking, no justification for that

And with that I think I’m officially done with regularly buying records. Had a bit of a spiritual awakening these past few weeks and come to the realisation that chasing the latest thing whether that be new records, clothes, material things in general is no longer giving me the joy I once thought it did. I started to feel as though I’m just buying things to fill the void of emptiness but it was actually making me even more empty and anxious. The things we own really do end up owning us. Anyways on a more positive note it’s time to let go of the collector mentality and start enjoying what I already have!

My wife started selling a lot of clothes on Vinted recently. And bought a few really nice pieces with the money. Often second hand from Vinted. It feels like a much more sustainable way to exist in our consumer society. I’ve started to view my records in the same way (as I know many on here already do). It has felt good to sell a few and buy some new bits with the PayPal balance.

Vinted can be good but it has some of the biggest tightwads on the planet on it as well.

Yeah that seems to be the way to do it! Get rid of the stuff that no longer brings joy and be real intentional with what you bring in. One of my good friends who recently became a father for the first time, text me last week asking if I had any old clothes I didn’t wear anymore that he could have and as I was sorting through everything I realised I have so much good stuff that is getting no use whatsoever just sat in bags in the cupboard. I gave him a load of stuff then put all the rest in the charity bin. There’s definitely so many people out there who could make good use of it rather than me holding on to it for a day that might never come.

Ain’t that the truth.

ā€œWould you accept Ā£10 for them?ā€

A £40 pair of unworn Carhartt Master Pants.

Fack awf!
