Stoned Immaculate was the first proper dub album I heard. I still love it - Tunes from The Missing Channel has some great tunes (Ravi Shankar). Iâd recommend having a look on their bandcamp page. I think that theyâre rereleasing a few of their albums that werenât already rereleased a few years ago.

Were they any good live back in the day? I never bothered, was always a bit disappointed with the Sabresonic albumâŚ
We went to see them in a car park near Tottenham Court Road and Weatherall then djâd. That was fun. It was early days and we were young and foolish so I think we had a great time. Not sure what theyâd sound like now⌠I imagine they play the record if you know what I meanâŚ

I liked them - sultry and bass-heavy with leather trench coats and a significant stage presence. I also liked Andrew playing that Lynch Mob bonus beats tune and some banging Dave Clark Red business. All good.

I bought Smokebelch 1 on 12" and loved it. Then bought II and loved it. Then bought Sabresonic and didnât love it. Was too dark for me at the time, I probably like a few tunes on it more now, but for me it didnât really work.
But then I remember going to see Weatherall in '94 and Theme had just come out and it felt like everyone was waiting to hear that and tunes like it, but he played the most obnoxious clattering Techno bollocks instead, it was utterly painful 
. And he didnât give a fuck that he emptied the room pretty much. Got to admire that

Yes, Iâve seen Lena Willikens a few times and I really love her tunes. She usually fits in an old Sabres tune somewhere along the line. Works for me I guess, but I can see why people may think itâs dark. It is! But thatâs what makes the light shine brighter maybe?
